🍂 “The summer sun is fading as the year grows old, and darker days are drawing near…” It’s that time of year again. Every autumn, we hear from fans who mark the changing season by returning to 'Forever Autumn' from the Musical Version of The War of The Worlds. Justin Hayward’s unmistakable voice, the sweeping strings, the haunting atmosphere… there’s something about the recording that never seems to fade. As the evenings draw in and autumn settles around us, we hope you’ll take a moment to listen once again. by @twotw_official
While everyone is looking up to watch the eclipse tonight, there might be something else out there... heading towards Earth. 👀🌎 "At midnight, on the 12th of August, a huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Mars and sped towards Earth. Across two hundred million miles of void, invisibly hurtling towards us, came the first of the missiles that were to bring so much calamity to Earth... "...And that’s how it was for the next ten nights. A flare, spurting out from Mars - bright green, drawing a green mist behind it - a beautiful, but somehow disturbing sight." Happy 12th of August everyone! #SolarEclipse2026 by @twotw_official
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEFF! Fortunately, the only thing invading today... ...is birthday cake. 🎂 Have a fantastic day from the team at The War of The Worlds! by @twotw_official
Today marks 48 years since the release of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds. Released on 9 June 1978, the double album has enjoyed a remarkable journey, one that wouldn't have been possible without the support of listeners around the world. Thank you to everyone who has listened, attended a live show, shared the music, or simply continued to follow our adventures over the years. Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds… 48 years young today. No one would have believed! by @twotw_official
It is with a very heavy heart that we must share that Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds: The Experience has closed its doors at 56 Leadenhall Street, London, after seven incredible years. Ellipsis Entertainment, the company licensed to operate the Experience, has ceased trading. This was sudden, unexpected, and completely outside our control. We did everything in our power to keep the Experience running. When we received the news that Ellipsis had ceased trading, Jeff Wayne Music Group moved immediately to intervene. Jeff personally covered the Ellipsis staff and actor payroll of approximately 60 people during this period, while we fought to find a way forward. In the end, due to legal and insurance requirements, we had no option but to close. What makes this particularly painful is that the Experience had just undergone a £400,000 upgrade. New VR technology, new scenes, a track never heard in the Experience before, and for the first time Jeff Wayne himself appearing within it. This was a production investing ambitiously in its future. That investment deserved far better than this outcome. To all 320,000 of you who stepped inside and survived the Martian invasion with us, thank you. We remain incredibly proud of everything this production achieved: 15 major awards, five consecutive years as the world's top-rated immersive experience on TripAdvisor, and a Guinness World Record for the longest theatrical run of a musical immersive theatre production. IF YOU HAVE TICKETS: If you purchased your ticket directly through LW Tickets, you will be automatically refunded. There is no need to contact them for this to happen. If you purchased your ticket using a third-party ticket agent or gift experience seller, please contact the company from whom you received the voucher/ticket in order to obtain an exchange/refund. The War of The Worlds is not going away. Our touring concert productions continue as planned. Behind the scenes we are actively exploring ways to bring the immersive experience back in a different way. We hope to see you again. ✨ Merry Christmas, Earthlings! May this holiday season bring Joy, Hope, and Wonder to everyone… JEFF & TWOTW Team, 2025 by @twotw_official
**ANNOUNCEMENT: LIVE! THE CONCERT EXPERIENCE! 2026** Jeff & The War of The Worlds team are thrilled to announce that the Musical Version of The War of The Worlds will be touring theatres and concert halls in October 2026, with a very special concert rendition, presented by Kilimanjaro. Featuring West End theatre performers, a band, orchestra and animation, this production will feel like you’ve stepped into the 1978 double album. Artist pre-sale is going live on Wednesday 26 Nov 2025 at 12 midday (GMT). To access the pre-sale, sign up via the link in our bio! Jeff says: "Over the many years since my musical version was released, TWOTW has been performed as a concert rendition hundreds of times - but almost all have been international productions. It’s therefore a great thrill to announce that a special concert rendition of my original double album is to tour the UK in October next year - a first of its kind on our home shores. Performing at concert and theatre venues, it will give the audiences a different perspective of my musical version, stripping the ‘spectacle’ of my arena tours back down to it’s foundation…the music! For this concert tour, I’ll be stepping back from the podium, but the production will showcase exceptional artists from the West End and other major performing mediums, supported by a band, orchestra, animation and other concert elements. It will stand as a true companion to my arena tours.” by @twotw_official
