For the last 10 years, this shelter has been a place of hope.

Thousands of animals have passed through these gates. Injured dogs hit by cars. Abandoned puppies. Sick and starving cats. Animals that had nowhere else to go.

This shelter gave them a home.

But over the years, one challenge has become impossible to ignore. We have outgrown this space.

The number of animals needing help continues to rise, but our capacity has not. The demand is greater than what this shelter was ever designed to handle.

And that is why we must build something bigger. Not because this shelter has failed us. But because the animals need more than it can provide.

This shelter carried us through the last decade. Now, with your help, we can build the future.

A purpose-built Animal Hospital & Sanctuary designed to give vulnerable animals the safety they deserve.

For years, we've dreamed of creating a facility that can meet the growing needs of the animals who depend on us. A place with dedicated medical wards, quarantine units, surgery rooms, recovery spaces, and long-term sanctuary areas for those who have nowhere else to go.

A place built not just to save lives, but to save more lives.

We have officially launched our biggest fundraiser yet to make this vision a reality.

This is the biggest announcement in TWS history. ❤️

Today, we are officially launching our fundraiser for a purpose-built Animal Hospital & Sanctuary.

For years, we've worked out of limited space, constantly trying to make room for one more injured dog, one more abandoned cat, one more life that desperately needed help.

We've dreamed about a place where we never have to say, "we're full."

A place with proper medical facilities. A place for long-term residents. A place where animals can recover safely and with dignity.

Today, that dream takes its first real step.

The cruelty towards animals in Pakistan never seems to end.

The second we feel like our voices are finally being heard, another dog is shot. The second we're mourning one life, somewhere in another city, another dog is being rounded up and culled.

It's an endless cycle of grief.

Sometimes, a future where these innocent babies are safe feels like such a distant dream. A place where they don't have to spend every single day just trying to stay alive. Where they aren't treated as pests, targets, or lives that don't matter. Where they don't flinch every time a human comes near them.

We dream of a Pakistan where they don't just survive, but get to live.

Where they know kindness instead of fear.
Where they run without bullets chasing them. Where their stomachs are full, their wounds are healed, and they fall asleep knowing they're safe. Where they're loved for every single day of their lives, until they take their very last breath.

Surely, that isn't too much to ask?

We owe them that much, don't we?

We are organising a candlelight vigil in remembrance and honour of the dogs lost to the mass culling. This evening of reflection is an opportunity to honour the lives that are no longer with us, grieve with those who lost their dear street dog, and reaffirm our shared commitment to compassion and kindness.

Bring pictures of your dogs lost to this massacre, light a candle, recite a poem or just come stand in solidarity against this injustice. May we always choose kindness and may compassion always outlive cruelty.

Is it really this hard to coexist with them?

Look at them. They're not chasing or attacking anyone. They're lying there, resting after another day of trying to survive on the streets.

Yet every day, authorities receive calls asking for these dogs to be "removed." Why? Because they exist.

These animals didn't choose to be born on the streets. They didn't want a life where every passing vehicle, loud noise, and human could become a threat.

Before you pick up the phone to report a stray dog, ask yourself, has this animal actually harmed anyone, or have I just decided that it doesn't belong here?

We share this world with them. Coexisting doesn't mean you have to love every stray you see or bring them all home. Sometimes, it means allowing a harmless animal to sleep in peace, to exist without fear, and to live the life it never asked for.

Every life deserves mercy.

Sadly, donations towards our sanctuary project have been very slow.

With the ongoing culling and countless injured and abandoned animals needing rescue, time is something we don't have.

We know it's a big goal, but every single brick brings us closer. The sooner we reach our target, the sooner we can begin construction, and the sooner we can save more animals from the streets and from the hands of cruelty.

This sanctuary will stand for decades. Long after today's rescue cases are gone, it will continue saving thousands more.
