Eid Celebration at Epic Waters in Grand Prairie Shut Down

I usually keep my opinions to myself but this is wild... Let's be clear - this event was simply a PRIVATE PARTY.

Private as in the place was rented out specifically for use by a particular group of people, for a particular celebration - not unlike renting a venue for a wedding, birthday party, etc.

Epic was not doing anyone a favor by accepting the money to rent their facility. It was a business transaction - a LEGAL business transaction.

I don't know if you've seen most Muslim women swimming - they are STILL usually COVERED head to ankle. To avoid guests that don't follow the same standards of modesty, the flyer was originally labelled for Muslims only. Still paid for, still private.

The coordinator of the event even changed the wording after backlash about about it. But why the backlash? Paid for. Private event. For a private celebration.

In the "BEST INTEREST" of the City of Grand Prairie? Really?

Valentine's' Day is about love.
Flowers are beautiful.
Chocolate is sweet.

But real love thinks ahead.

When you truly love someone, you don't just celebrate today - you protect tomorrow.

If you haven't reviewed your coverage lately, or don't have any that you own outside of work, it's not too late.

Message "FOREVER".

The practice before the performance... Any #Hamilton fans out there? Thank you Glenn Derwin Robertson Sr. (CEO of The DFW Mass Legacy Choir) for sharing your talent and expertise as her Drum Instructor. I can't wait to see where your guidance takes her.
PSA- if you or your child needs a private instructor, we suggest Mr. Robertson! We've been on a break since last year but the studio is lesson ready so stay tuned for progress. by @twylaabd
