POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last weekend was pretty special.

On September 19, while celebrating the third anniversary of NTX MMA, I was promoted to Brown Belt after 8½ years of training Jiu-Jitsu.

I’m proud of the belt, but what means the most is the journey behind it.

I’ve had the privilege of training alongside Haleigh since she was a little girl. I’ve watched her grow up on the mats and become an elite athlete in Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and wrestling. I’ve watched her win, lose, struggle, get back up, work harder, and keep chasing bigger goals.

Somewhere along the way, I went from always being the one teaching her to having plenty of days where I’m learning from her. As her dad, that’s pretty damn special.

That experience is also a big part of why NTX MMA is so personal to me. This was never about just opening a gym. I wanted to build a place where other families could experience the practices, tournaments, victories, hard days, lessons, and memories that Haleigh and I have shared through martial arts.

Three years later, I get to watch other kids grow up on our mats and see parents sharing that same journey with their children.

None of this happens without the support of my family, especially Chastity. Every trip, tournament, long training session, and weekend away meant she was back home picking up the slack and taking care of everything that still had to get done.

Chastity, thank you for every sacrifice and for always having our backs. I couldn’t have done this without you.

Getting my Brown Belt on NTX MMA’s third anniversary brought a lot of this journey full circle.

8½ years. Brown Belt. Three years of NTX MMA.

A lot of memories, a lot of lessons, and a lot to be thankful for.

And we’re not done yet. taken in NTX MMA - Anna TX by @txgrappler71

As we head into the Christmas break, we want to take a moment to say thank you. Another year of trust, support, and commitment from the NTX MMA family is something we never take for granted. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you who steps on the mats, supports our athletes, and helps make this academy what it is.

This season is a time to reflect on the past year and the many blessings we’ve shared together — growth on and off the mats, hard work, perseverance, and a strong community that truly feels like family.

Please take this time to enjoy your families, unwind, and rejoice in the season. To allow both our members and staff some much-needed time with loved ones, we will be running a modified schedule for the next two weeks.

Thank you for being part of NTX MMA. We wish you peace, rest, and joy this holiday season.

Happy Birthday Summer!

Seventeen candles, a heart full of grace,
A beautiful soul with a gentle embrace.
You see the world in colors and lines,
Through sketches and stories and curious minds.

Anime dreams and mysteries deep,
You carry a love that’s tender and steep.
In family, you find your truest light,
You hold us close and love us right.

Your heart is huge, your spirit bright,
A beacon of warmth, a quiet might.
So here’s to you, our shining star,
We love you deeply just as you are.

Happy Birthday, Summer — keep being you,
The world is better with all that you do.

Love,
