Happy Homecoming 2026!

What a beautiful final senior year group of friends and I was especially proud of both Erynn and Rachel this week - @erynn.freeland for her Homecoming game prayer before the game on Friday (video at the end) and @lilscoops exceptional work on all the floral bouquets for the all the girls.

A beautiful Family Weekend in Fayetteville!

We spent Friday on Erynn’s official tour (thank you @marandaoverholt) and took in an amazing dinner at @hugosfayetteville,
finishing off the night with some incredible SEC volleyball vs Auburn.

On Saturday, it was awesome getting a tour of the @uarkpike house (right on the edge of Dickson Street) and meeting so many of his friends in the house. And of course, always fun to be on campus for a night football game (and a win!)

It’s hard to believe it’s already done - but the new church renovation marks an amazing new era in the growth of the church.

From the living room of a few faithful, to the Melissa middle school, to the first time we attended on Easter in 2016, to being online, to the @mitashillvineyard amphitheater on Mothers Day 2020, to the now Old Sanctuary for 6 years, to this new 700 person sanctuary, the growth and faithfulness of this body of believers is truly phenomenal.

Thank you to so many that have made this journey possible, but I wanted to make sure and thank @ryaneross and @laurannross, @kylehendrickson08 and @jhhendrickson for their leadership and steadfastness in their faith to just take a few steps forward everyday to bring our church to this moment.

Amazing that even between 2 services, we had to continue to bring in more chairs to help find a seat for everyone as the line to get in snaked all the way down the highway.

Happy 17th to our littlest (currently celebrating 1200 miles away!)

What an amazing honor to be your dad and can’t believe we only have you here for one more year!

I hope you are having a blast in California, enjoying every minute, and showing the West Coast what Southern + Erynn charm is all about!)

25 Years!

We took a week to celebrate the milestone and what a week it was. We had never done the all-inclusive in Mexico until now and @secretsakumalresort was everything you could ask for.

Rachel planned the perfect trip at the perfect resort:

✅ Three distinct resort pools
✅ Ocean side cabanas
✅ Seven restaurants, seven amazing genres
✅ Live entertainment and shows every night
✅ We did a sushi class, a guacamole class, and a tequila class
✅ We experienced our first cave dive and toured Tulum
✅ Incredible staff and service

Happy 21st Sydfactor!!

What a run it’s been and this is just the beginning! It was very hard to find the 20 shots for this post but I love each one of these moments in time for different reasons (they all make me tear up). There has been no greater honor than being your dad, and your mom and I are so proud of you.

Can’t wait to see what the next 21 years will bring, and in the immortal words of Rod Stewart back in 1988 when your dad was 13 …

“…May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam

And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you’re far from home
