Think your student organization is the best on campus? Prove it at the Texas Fight Parade. 🤘 One lucky org will walk away with $1,000 for their nonprofit! All student orgs, spirit groups, and Greek life are invited to participate in the banner competition and march in the parade on Oct. 7. Get contest details and register at the link in our bio. šŸŽ‰ by @txorangejackets

This week, the Tejas Club is excited to host Joe Panzarella for Coffee!

Joe Panzarella is the City Council Member for Houston’s District C. He was raised in Kingwood, Texas. Joe received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and went on to earn his master’s at Bocconi University in Milan. He worked across Europe for a few years prior to moving back to Houston where he began working in renewable energy. He began his political career participating in grassroots efforts to stop highway expansions in Houston that displaced locals. He continued working against highway expansions as the President of the Fourth Ward–Freedmen’s Town Super Neighborhood. He eventually ran for a seat on Houston’s City Council championing better infrastructure, such as level sidewalks, affordable housing, and more green spaces to mitigate heat. He’s also called for the Houston Police Department to end its collaboration with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and for City Hall to be more transparent.Ā

Join us on Thursday, October 1st at 8:00 pm at 2600 Rio Grande St. As always, all are welcome. taken in Tejas Club by @txorangejackets
