You know who never misses?
The folks at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. NEVER. 🥑

You can customize to your heart’s content. This is the Garden Harvest Omelet, which usually comes with greens and seeds on the side. Because of #cyclospora, I opted for hashbrowns instead. It was sooo good. They are #allergy & #glutenfree conscious. You are always welcome to invite me to #breakfast, lunch or brunch. Thank you! 🥞 by @txrealtormesia

Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods old fashioned rolled oats, brown sugar and diced strawberries for breakfast. With a smooth grande soy mocha from Starbucks. #ArtQuest starts today at the African American Museum of Dallas. Have a satisfying Saturday!

@austinchanning Brown’s #FullofMyself is exactly what the title says—a book about embracing all of the phenomenal Black woman that you are, inside and out: your ideas, opinions, curiosities, needs, emotions and humanity.

The first person account is about experiences in her career (having to fire herself), community (being disrespected by her neighbor), family (parents separating/monthly Zoom cooking), physical (periods & birth) & mental health (medicating depression), and how she decided to LIVE out loud as much as she lived in her head.

Austin also delves into disadvantages that the Black community faces and methods to overcome them. Some of these issues include careers, credit, homeownership, redlining, safety, politics, and wealth-building. Austin ends the book with a walk through a therapy session and what she ultimately gets from it: I will save myself.

🏛️ This was a moving experience. If you were of age during George W. Bush’s term as president, you likely have mixed feelings about him. But, as I told my son, the longer you live, the more you learn about people and get to view them in different lights. The George W. Bush Presidential Center is an excellent set of lights to engage your thoughts and change your mind about some of your opinions. It is a highly immersive experience that provides you information and opportunities to test how well you might handle being Commander in Chief.

🌾 Built on a 15-acre urban park at the eastern edge of the SMU campus, this intriguing museum and library walks you through the President & Mrs. George W. Bush’s main values: Freedom, Opportunity, Accountability and Compassion. Each section focuses on a major segment of President Bush’s life, including some of the most tragic events to occur on US soil. I was fascinated from the time I walked in the doors until the time I finished my lap around the landscaped trails.

🌊 There is an abundance of historical information to read, videos to watch, gifts from many nations to see, wardrobe and personal items to admire and multiple interactive Q&As to participate in. My son was most intrigued by the Decision Points Theater which placed visitors in the hot seat to determine which actions should have been taken during Hurricane Katrina. His choice of local government leadership with assistance from the national guard (but no policing) was the ultimate choice made by President Bush.

🌹 The Rose Garden and September 11 exhibits were most poignant for me. I was moved to tears standing at the World Trade Center beam, which was part of the top floors of the building. I shared with my son, and a new volunteer, how I remembered exactly where I was when the news of the towers was released. I remembered being at work on Hwy 114 in Irving, not far from DFW Airport where my mother worked. I remembered calling her over and over again, yet not being able to reach her, and how the cellular services went down because so many people were trying to reach their loved ones. The world literally stood still for so many of us that day.

Here’s a snippet of Rashid Johnson’s nearly 90 works, including black-soap paintings, spray-painted text pieces, monumental sculptures, film, and video. On exhibit at the #ModernArtMuseumofFortWorth thru September 2026, the plant installation includes a live musician on the last Friday & Sunday of each month. I most enjoyed the theme of faces in the paintings, like the one on this cover. Where have you seen #RashidJohnson on exhibit? Which piece is your favorite? Mine is in the comments. Add yours.

I miss her assuredness.
Think about her daily.
Think about you, too.

Let us be about our Father’s business, as she was—always.

Happy Juneteenth and Happy Father’s Day! This is heaven! This is a grown folks concert! Live bands, real instrumentalists and vocalists…I am overjoyed! @averysunshine and her man, her son and guitarist complement eachother so well. These folks around me are probably staring at me doing all this snapping, clapping, swaying and praying! 🤗

Another Soul of Sycamore Juneteenth Music & Art Festival is in the books for #FortWorth. I had a wonderful time greeting & meeting the vendors and attendees. The citizens of Fort Worth & the Fort Worth Police Department showed up & out! Patronize the vendors and support #BOB everyday.

Gosh…this is a beautiful call-to-action. So accurately me.

All peace, planning and understanding.

Deep belief and hope in the goodness of humanity. In seeing people and helping them realize they are filled with that goodness.

And, a heartfelt desire to spend the rest of my natural life being loved, supported, respected and abundant.
