The tools are here. The talent is here. And the future is being built right here at @texassouthern! 🎙️🎬🐅

Today on Tiger Thursdays, student hosts @zyiasrichards and @calebthomas.reporting led an insightful conversation with Dr. Alan Caldwell, Dean of TSU’s School of Communication. Dean Caldwell came through dropping gems!

From new state-of-the-art equipment to the School of Communication’s Hollywood-grade virtual production studio and massive LED wall, TSU is giving students the tools and hands-on experience needed to compete in film, television, and digital media.

The message was clear: Creativity opens the door, but preparation, access, and opportunity help turn that vision into a career.

Join us every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. on @ktsu90.9fm for Tiger Thursdays, one full hour dedicated to all things Texas Southern!

📻 Listen at 90.9 FM, KTSURadio.com, or through the KTSU app.

This week SOC Alumna @whittmeyxo (C/O 2012) screened at TIFF (@tiff_net ) 🥹

What a BLESSING.

She says:
Thank you to @thencfbarbados for the opportunity and partnership. Super grateful for this team and the leadership at NCF. (Ms. Roberts and Mr Hoyte)

@salaamremi thanks for bringing me on this journey. And trusting me to get this done.

Thank you Ann and Zoe (@investbarbados ) for your support and organizing this .

About TRACING FOOTPRINTS

In the premiere episode, hip-hop legend @fab5freddy embarks on a journey to uncover his Barbadian ancestry. Through archival research and on-the-ground discovery, he learns how his family’s story connects to the island’s complex history. Along the way, Fab explores Barbados’ vibrant cultural traditions, from music to art, that echo in hip-hop’s foundation. What emerges is a powerful homecoming that reframes his legacy and highlights the island’s global influence.

I’m still soo excited.

What a dream come true but more importantly what a honor to represent a film that was made with love from everyone who touched this project.
