🎉 A new chapter built on a strong tradition.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Chris Russian on his appointment as Chair of the Department of Respiratory Care at Texas State University.
For more than two decades, Dr. Russian has served our students, department, university, and profession with distinction. From clinical instructor to professor, program coordinator, researcher, mentor, and leader, his dedication has helped shape the future of respiratory care education.
As Dr. Russian begins this new role, we also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gregg Marshall for his extraordinary leadership and service. For 23 years, Dr. Marshall guided the department with vision, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, leaving a lasting legacy that has impacted generations of students, faculty, alumni, and respiratory care professionals.
Just as Dr. Marshall built upon the foundation established by those before him, Dr. Russian now carries that legacy forward. With his experience, leadership, and commitment to student success, we are excited for the future of the Department of Respiratory Care.

They joined a pulmonary embolism simulation with St. David’s School of Nursing, helping nursing students learn ventilator management and the power of teamwork in patient care.
