So about this weekend…

It was a whirlwind of emotions. I was nervous, proud, and relieved! After going to college and trying to push through I gave up, never thinking I’d go back. But this past Friday, I did it! It’s not a BA or M or PhD but I truly feel proud of what I was able to accomplish.

To my classmates: I couldn’t have asked for a more fun and awesome group of people. I am so grateful to have met you all and hopefully we get to remain friends through the rest of our careers. And to my fellow sheet metal apprentice, thank you for always keeping an eye out for me and helping me from the get go. I seriously couldn’t have gotten through that first year without you.

To my family & friends: thank you for coming out to support me. It was really touching to have you guys there to celebrate this milestone. There’s nothing I could do to express how full my heart was seeing you all there.

To my mom & dad: thank you for believing in me and supporting me through not just my ups and downs in my career and academics but life as a whole. I appreciate you and hope I continue to make you proud.

To my better half: thank you so much for supporting me when I didn’t think I could make it through. You helped keep pushing me when I doubted myself. You’re the best. by @tydalwave_

Hi Grandma, it’s been 3 weeks since you’ve been gone. I didn’t know how to put words into something eloquently enough to describe you, so I’ll keep it straightforward. You called me your best friend and I thought of you as my best friend too. You always said how much you missed grandpa, Lola and your sisters and now you get to see them again. You lit up a room and made friends with whoever you talked to, to this day folks at Foodland Waipio ask about you. This will be our first Mother’s Day without you and it felt right to honor you. I’m going to miss you so much. I love you forever, grandma. by @tydalwave_

Missing both Kiko & Koa a little more than usual today. My family and I lucked out with having them as our first dogs. Luka definite learned a lot from you being a good big sister, Kiko. I bet you’re spinning Koa around like you did back in your prime, while Koa steals all your snacks. I love you both, forever. by @tydalwave_

I’m going to miss you Kiko. You and Koa were partners in crime (and snacking). I couldn’t have asked for two better dogs to start my pet parenting with. Koa gave us 16 years and you gave us 19.
