If you’re about to be a bridesmaid, there are a few things you probably won’t think about until the wedding day.

The wedding day can get busy. Really busy. And the bride will probably have a million things going through her head.

So help her out a little.

Make sure she eats. Bring her water. Help her with her dress. Know where her shoes are. Grab her lipstick when she can’t find it. If she’s running late, don’t make it a bigger deal than it needs to be.

But it’s not all about being helpful.

Be there for her.

If she gets nervous, make her laugh. If she starts crying, let her cry. If she needs a minute, stay with her.

And when we start taking photos, don’t disappear. You don’t have to know what to do. I’ll tell you where to stand and what to do. Just stay close and be yourself.

And when the reception starts, enjoy it with her.

Get on the dance floor, sing along to the songs you know, pull her into a hug, laugh until your stomach hurts. These are the things that make the photos feel like the people in them.

Because yes, you’re there to help.

But you’re also there to celebrate with your friend.

And honestly, those are the moments I want to photograph.

Friday night I got to shoot some content for my son @exlr8music at Tyde. He brought out his cold sparks for his couple’s sparkler send off, after they had a private last dance. Their photographer had left already so I grabbed my camera and made some MAGIC🪄💫
