🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

This song, “You Still Rise,” is more than music to me—it’s a message of strength, courage, and survival. I created this song to honor every woman who has faced breast cancer, every woman still fighting, every survivor, and every family member who has stood beside them. My own life has taught me what it means to go through painful and unexpected seasons and still find the strength to keep moving forward. I know what it feels like to face moments that could have broken me, yet somehow, I kept getting back up. That’s why these words are so personal to me: You may bend, you may cry, you may face moments when you don’t know what tomorrow will bring—but you still rise. 💕🎀

To every woman fighting breast cancer, every survivor, and every woman who has lost someone she loves: your story matters, your strength matters, and your life matters. Keep believing. Keep fighting. Keep living. Keep rising.

20 YEARS LATER — AUGUST 31 🕊️

Today marks 20 years since my life changed forever.

On August 31, 2006, I was shot four times. I’m still here today, and I don’t take that blessing for granted. For many years, I have carried that day with me — the questions, the pain, the memories, and the realization that my life could have ended that day.

But God allowed me to live.

And because I’m still here, I feel a responsibility to use my voice.

I dedicate this song to everyone who has lost their life because of gun violence, and to every family who has had to live with that pain. To the mothers, fathers, children, siblings, friends, and loved ones left behind — this is for you. 🕊️

This song is more than music for me. It represents survival, remembrance, healing, and hope.

Twenty years later, I’m still standing.
Still writing.
Still creating.
Still telling my story.

And today, I honor the lives that were taken far too soon.

Stop the violence. Put the guns down. Choose life. ❤️🕊️

I’m excited to officially announce that I am now under contract as a songwriter! 🎶✍🏾

This is a dream I’ve worked hard for, and I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity. Every lyric I’ve written has come from my life experiences, faith, growth, and determination. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
