I’m often asked how many photos I take at a play or concert or event. I’m usually shooting in high speed bursts so that I don’t miss any of the big moments. For Mamma Mia I ended up with 7,000 photos before sitting down to curate and start editing. Going back through the catalog I can’t help but notice how I’ve captured so many little timelapse-esque sequences of photos, I thought why not make little video clips out of them. Well this is exciting! A fun piece of Tyler trivia, I used to be a college teacher. Years ago I worked at an arts college teaching a wide array of classes on broadcasting, journalism, cinematography, and video editing. It was sort of a side quest in my freelance filmmaking career while still working in the commercial video space.Present day: I’ve produced several of my own television shows, and I regularly produce interview segments for Global and CTV programs like Crime Beat and W5, and I’ve incorporated my own company, TWE Productions Inc, to handle all the work.About a year ago I bumped into an old colleague, Heather Aker of Connexionworks fame. While giving me a tour she showed me their fully decked out podcast studio. I was blown away by their setup and that they offer such an amazing facility to their members. Heather said to me, “We need someone to teach people how to do interviews and make their own podcast.” She said, “I saw on Linkedin that you used to be a college teacher…”So here we are, about a year in the making, I’m going to be teaching a workshop on how to start your own podcast! With my decade of working behind the scenes for television interviews with the likes of Alan Doyle, Sum 41, Marianas Trench, Jonathan Torrens, and Classified. I’m going to be sharing a step by step guide on how to conduct an interview, and how to create your own podcast. I hope you sign up, space is very limited. Welcome to the world, Ryan Warren Ellis.On March 11th, 2026, at 6:39am, a healthy 6 pound baby boy was born. Shelby became a mom, and I became a dad, and we’re so excited for the journey of being parents together. Thank you to all the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital, thank you to our family and friends for all your love and support. This has been the most magical experience of our lives, the most meaningful milestone in our relationship, and little Ryan here is without a doubt the greatest thing we’ve ever created.Much love, Tyler. by @tylannosaurus
