Today is @mha_iri_official ‘s birthday, and I just have to say that I am so thankful this incredible soul was born into this world and timeline. From the moment I met you, it felt like we had already known each other from another life. I would not have guessed that one photo shoot would have lead to this wonderful friendship. Mhairi’s spirit is as genuine and true as it gets, and I know that anyone that meets you will say the same. She can throw down the hardest techno set, and cry with you over the disparities that occur in our world right after. Last night I FaceTimed Mhairi from the memorial site of Alex Pretti here in Minneapolis, and she was already crying when she answered my call ❤️‍🩹 We have shared our deep thoughts and concerns about many issues, and I can also positively say that no one else has ever made me laugh the way we laugh together. You bring so much joy, light, and love to this world, Mhairi. Much love and happiness to you for years to come 🙏🏻💕 by @tylerallix

Annual pilgrimage to Techno City 🖤

I had quite the adventure getting to Detroit last weekend for @movementdetroit - after having a flat tire, getting towed to Walmart, finding out I had a bigger issue with my car, finding a mechanic open on a Sunday evening, having the mechanic look up train times and tell me I can still get to Detroit later that night (my car wouldn’t be ready until the next day) to his partner driving me 25 minutes to the Amtrak station, being on the train for 5 more hours, and me getting to the club at 1:30am just in time to cover this I iconic b3b with

Reflecting back on a year of unforgettable, full spectrum moments. I am always amazed at how profound this life is. To be able to experience immense joy and intense grief simultaneously is a real wonder. This year I am grateful for the incredible opportunities I have been given and trusted with, as well as the beautiful shared memories with friends and family, new and old. Thank you to those who have held me with my tears and with the smiles and laughter 💙

Sharing a more personal story this time.
Last month I spent 2 weeks in Iceland visiting a friend. During this time I was able to spend my most recent solar return & birthday in this incredible land. On my birthday I ventured off on a solo hike in hopes to have a therapeutic dip in some natural hot springs. It was a 3km trek through the volcanic stones and mountains that spewed steam from geothermal streams, deep beneath my feet. (If you know me, you know I like to get poetic). It was a densely foggy beginning of the day, with a very surprising burst of sunshine and stillness that made my heart sing. …then I remembered I was in Iceland. I made it to the geothermal river, the torrential wind and rain had come in. I got this far, I had to go in. There have been few moments in my life where I’ve felt nervous in nature, this was one of them. The water was not anywhere near hot, the strength of the downward current was mighty, and the freezing air and rain definitely did not make for a relaxing combination. Of course this would be how I spend my birthday 🫠 Good thing I love intense things and took away some insight and no hypothermia.

This time of year the sun barely makes itself known, making each shining moment one to behold. It’s a time to become friends with the darkness (my Scorpio nature is already quite comfortable with). Being able to not just face, but also embrace the intensity of the elements and rugged land and seascapes gave me new wisdom. As the storms raged and pummeled rain at my face each day, I learned to listen even if I so badly wanted to run away. I listened to the stories in the wind. They told me to turn to the truth I hold within.
For in this moment, I carry with me both love and grief. The great duality. Then again, maybe they are not so separate I have come to believe.
