We’ve worked a combined total of 17 different settings 😱(When you count the variety within each setting)

One thing we love about Travel PT is getting the chance to change it up! We’ve been at super small, critical access hospitals that still had paper charting to large teaching/trauma hospitals.

We’ve been fortunate to work in a variety in our 8+ years as travelers; and what’s even better is when you get bored or want to try something new, YOU CAN!

We’ve had so much diversity and opportunity that we would not have had otherwise and that’s all thanks to Travel!

How many settings have you worked in as a therapist??

We got serious about loan repayment in spring of 2019. From there, It took us just UNDER 6 years to pay off BOTH of our student loan debt!! We had a few set backs along the way but we didn’t let that deter us and we’re SO excited to be able to say we are finally DEBT FREE!!
Thank you Travel Therapy for giving us the opportunity live and work in beautiful places all around the country while making more as PT’s to allow us to achieve this goal!

Who else is on this debt free journey!???!?

Here’s to National Take a Hike Day. Not hiking today, but wishing we were! Since were not, here’s a photo of one of our more recent favorite trails! taken in The Narrows (Zion National Park) by @tylerandkari_

If you would have asked us in the beginning of July if this is where we’d be, the answer would be “No”.
But, life and travel therapy have a funny way of working itself out.
This extension made our vacation much less stressful (not having to rush to pack up and move before leaving), it’s allowed Tyler to take time off to rest his back and be close for his various appointments as well as allowed us to explore more of this part of the state.

So, here’s to a couple more months, and wrapping up our year, in Northern California!

Our travel PT career has not always gone this way but since we’ve been able to pay off debt and save/invest more, we now always try to save enough throughout our assignments to have the option to take extended time off once they’re over.

Fortunate to have the freedom and flexibility to take the time off when it’s wanted/needed.

First camping trip of the fall season 🍁 🏕️

Showed up to the original camp spot we had picked out and showed up to a completely burned area, then drove 5-6 hours looking for another option only to settle on a camp site just an hour from home lol

At least the drive was beautiful and we got to see new parts of Northern California.

Driving all over northern CA looking for fall colors.

Not mad about what we came across 🤎
Found this beautiful meadow tucked away in Lassen and had the whole place to ourselves!

One small bush with some fall leaves and some “golden grass” as a fellow hiker called it.

Our recent hike at Lassen National Park; hiking at 6800’

You’ll get a lot of opinions on what you should or shouldn’t do or what you should and shouldn’t accept when it comes to your travel therapy contract.

And while no one wants to be taken advantage of as a traveler the bottom line is, as long as you’re happy with your contract, that’s what matters most!

With this current job, our company pays stipends for 7 days a week.

Even though I will physically be in my location before my assignment starts, I do not get stipends starting until my first day.

Even if I started on a Monday, this company does not pay stipends for the Sunday before (we know, this bothers us too). Therefore, that full pay you were counting on will not happen until week 2.

Every company is different and this may not be the case with the company you’re working with. But, this has been the case with the last TWO travel companies we’ve worked for.

What are your thoughts on this??

When your contract gets delayed you explore a new trail at Lassen National Park.

We actually had this trail on our to-do list and were not able to get it in before our original end date so thanks to an unexpected extension we were able to check it out!

The weather was perfect and it felt so good just being out in nature with no crowds 🏔️🌲☀️

Making lemonade out of lemons 🍋

It was too beautiful of a day to sit at home and be upset about my start date being delayed.

Decided to drive to Lassen and check out a new trail
