I think about this dude every day, and I wish he was here to talk about all the stuff that’s going on.

I took this pic on this day 11 years and some hours ago, when I was staying at his house for a few weeks with him and wife Jill their new toddler, and Darrin their roommate. He was doing his stretching and I couldn’t help but get this classic Kurt moment.

I was going through it, and was struggling trying to get my career on the right path. He would say dude think about this, who else in a 20 mile radius from here can do what you do? Meaning technically as far as animation and Adobe goes. And then he would say, I bet there’s nobody for allot of miles dude. He made a point to encourage me and I still think about that all the time.

One of the last times I hung out with him. I was at his house grabbing some chairs he was keeping for me. It was so good to see him and Jill, and we talked and talked and then he realized he was late to meet somebody he was selling something to from Craigslist by mall 205. He had to jet, but we had a good conversation, he had told me he just finished digitizing all of the Skate Church archive tapes. Telling me about everyone that was on there, and all the crazy stuff on them.

It still doesn’t feel real. He was such a good friend, and I wish I had stopped by the shop more often when I would see him through the window on my way home from work.

I hope to be more like him, and be such a good friend. I’m grateful for all the 3:00 AM high on life sesh’s I had with him and Darrin. Nothing but love, by @tylerbenjaminbrown

Here’s my new short film WORKING LATE created in Procreate Dreams. I’ve recently had some time to focus my attention on personal projects. So when I found out about Dreams I pulled out this short storyboard for my first venture with the app. The idea was to finish the film quickly without getting hung up on too many details. The lighting effect I was going for however required allot of layers, and I’m impressed with the app’s performance. I felt at times that I might break it, but it kept up with all I was putting it through. It’s really exciting to have such an accessible and powerful filmmaking tool like this. I’m looking forward to starting my next Dream. by @tylerbenjaminbrown
