To those who feel like they don’t belong—you have a place in my tribe.
To the child who has never felt heard—I will listen, and I will accept you without judgment.
To the mother who has lost her child—I will stand by your side as you grieve in your own time.
To the one whose lover has gone on where they cannot follow—I will be your friend and a rock you can lean on.
To the teenager who feels like nobody can see them—I will look upon you with an open heart, and cast zero projection upon you.
To the one who has lost a parent—I will cry with you.
To those facing terminal illness—I will walk that path with you, and I will not ever look away.
To the man who feels like he cannot cry, cannot express emotion lest he be seen as weak—I will wrap my arms around you and tell you that you are safe, you are loved, and you are free to become who you ARE.
To the ones who feel outnumbered and lost—I will stand between you and all who would dare to cast a stone.

I will love all—unconditionally; I will accept all—without limitation or hesitation. Let your light shine, no matter how dim it nay be. That is how we ignite this night.

“The Essence of Consciousness”

I made these light paintings last night, my very first on film. I shot a roll of Harman Phoenix, pushed to 800. I was quite unsure on development time for pushed Phoenix, but it ended up working out (14m30s, 90°). I wouldn’t have chosen this film for light painting, but it was already loaded so I decided to try, and I love how it turned out.

I used my Canon 30v with EF 35mm f/2. All shots were taken at f/13, either 4 or 6 seconds of exposure. I used an AOAM Critter BT to create the light trails.

There’s something about light painting on film, it just FEELS different. There’s no words. It’s like everything melts away and there’s just the light, and everything is aligned beyond the chaos of the world. I think that’s just where I’m at with my art, I just want everything stripped, no ceremony—just see what remains.

Oh I hadn’t realized the date stamp was on, that was just kind of a cool accident. Shoot some film, it’s good for the soul.

Much love 💫

How to ground yourself while riding out a storm, or for any situation at all really >>>

Pick an image and stare. (Or a different image, whatever works to calm you). Closing your eyes works too. There's a simple breathing exercise that can ground your nervous system.

Alternate nostril breathing—quick demo in slide 4:

•Begin seated or lying down, just get your body as relaxed as possible. Cover your right nostril with your thumb, and inhale through the left. Before exhaling, switch so a finger is now covering your left nostril, and exhale through your right. Inhale through right nostril, switch, exhale through left. Slow your breathing down, slow the exhales.

•Repeat this for 5/10/30 minutes, whatever works. You can also microdose as needed. This grounds you by helping your nervous system switch back from sympathetic to parasympathetic (out of fight or flight).

Much love, sending positive energy to those in the path of #hurricaneisaias 🤍🌬️

(my family is safe, far from the storm 🫶)
