I thought I could swim across the lake and back no problem but as I got to the other side I was quickly reminded I’m a 200 lb block of sinking muscle and a sh*tty swimmer. Otw back, I was slowly being engulfed by the water first at the eyes, then nose, then mouth and I couldn’t help but think of how much it reminded me of my daily life in Memphis. My body was giving out. In what I thought were my last moments the only things keeping me going was imagining that swimming for my life was the same as training til failure and also being able to post it on the gram after surviving.

After this near death experience I realized what’s really important in life and how many things I’ve taken for granted. So here’s to family, friends, traveling, lifting and most importantly living for the gram taken in Knoxville, Tennessee by @tylerrogers203

My first bodybuilding show! 7 week prep straight outta my hometown (in SoCal) and only one entry so it was either the overall or nothing at all.

Thank you to my friends and family that supported me on the journey and huge thanks to my coach who made it all happen in the first place!
