POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I did a Turkish mosaic lamp/candle making class today with my mom and her work colleagues. At Nirvana Eastern Imports studio in Onehunga.

I used to do mosaic when I was in primary school, and being able to do it once again after so many years just brought back the excitement and joy i used to find in it. It's so relaxing and therapeutical.

Out of the two options we got, I chose to design a candle holder/bowl. My design consists of the Bible verse John 8:12 paired with a cross. I thought if I am making a candle holder, which holds a light which can be taken anywhere. Why not put on a verse which expresses how Jesus is the same thing. A guiding light always with us. That is with us even in the darkest places.

John 8:12
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””

Another reason I am making this post, is because I have been heavily considering of late my desire to get back into this hobby, over the summer. And potentially making some stuff to sell in the future. But I can't reveal to much just yet!! 👀 by @tylers_void8

A concept poster I designed a while back now, Over the mid year break. I really wanted to experiment with my interest in designing band posters. My idea was to make posters about bands from the 90s to 2000s. That reflected their energy and style. Because of my really busy schedule, I only managed to finish one for now. The others are still works in progress.

This one is focused on Kurt Cobain from Nirvana. I really loved working on this one, and playing around with the different colour filters and textures. I wanted to capture the chaotic and raw nature of Kurt. And the unique energy everyone knew him for.

Woowee, this is a generationaly late post but here is my work from Semester 1!

I really enjoyed designing both projects, although it was such a demanding semester and so much work! 😮‍💨

The first two slides are a poster for a fictional event celebrating the legacy of a chosen monumental building in Auckland cbd. Out of the options available, I chose the Civic Theater. My poster speaks to the original design of the theater, which was focused on transporting patrons to other worlds and escaping reality. I considered how the theater is a place where patrons would go and not know what new worlds they might step into/ what new perspectives they may be introduced to.

The last slide is a publication we were briefed on designing. We each got assigned a street in Auckland out of 5, I think. Mine and some others got Quay Street. The aim of the publication was to attract new young people/foreign students ect. To come explore the street and all the activities and history which only locals would likely know. My theme was a very scrapbookish and analogue style book. I wanted it to feel like those travel journals people make after trips. Where receipts, stickers and images from the trip are arranged across the pages. I also wanted the book to have an interactive aspect, similar to journals which have similar elements. For example elements such as pulling back a photo to reveal text beneath it.

Overall I was super stoked with both end products and how they turned out.

Some photography I did down at the model engineering club I volunteer at! This was back in February over the Waitangi long weekend!

I was honestly really happy with how these and the weekend turned out! Some gorgeous looking locomotives!

I really want to post on here more and post more art/make more short films but university is becoming demanding, but hopefully I will post again soon. As for now enjoy the post! 😄

Oh gosh this is such a late post! 😭

But here is my Level 3 Photography board from
2025. I'm soooo happy this passed! I was so nervous if
it was good enough and if the marker would grasp my ideas correctly.

Besides that this was such a fun project. I really feel I got to go deep and produce art that felt like me and the vibes I love!

To put it short my board was inspired by the concept of Liminality and Transitional spaces. The brainchild behind the commonly known internet corner of the 'Backrooms'. It's was a mix of exploring these spaces most people miss but are in plain sight and expressing the freedom one might feel in these spaces.

But again I was super happy how this turned out! by @tylers_void8

Oooh man!! Im so happy with this and how it turned out!!

Ive recently really got into short filmmaking and im really finding it to be fun and exciting.

The inspiration behind this skit just came to me one day. I wanted to express the joy of being free and unbound by all the things of the world. And letting out the little version of me still inside, who used to love to explore and discover new places!
