[Thoughts I Keep To Myself]

There’s a quote I heard that went something like “when you get knocked down, you shouldn’t get right back up. Often that leads to falling right back down again. Instead, you should stay down. Analyze why you’re here so when you get back up you don’t fall for the same reasons.”
I did my best for 2 years to love someone despite the fact that my mental health was deplorable, my self-love was non-existent, and my character was compromised easily. I realize now that was a recipe for disaster since day one. I take full responsibility for why my last relationship ended and I’ve taken my time to get to a space where I will not make the same mistakes again. The only thing that was hard for me to get over was the aftermath. I tried to have the self-awareness to communicate my qualms, but after it ended I had to relearn the harsh truth that as a man no one gives a damn about how I feel lol
I’m not saying she didn’t try to care while we were together. I’m just speaking on the aftermath. Things got to a point where I saw my actions and character were doing more harm than good to her, and since I have always cared more about the happiness of any of my partners more than whether or not I can provide it to them I had to break things off. I don’t think it’s fair to someone you love to drag them down indefinitely when you’re going through hell internally, and I’ve never seen it pay off when someone chooses to stick with someone no matter what. At least one of us deserves to be happy right?
Maybe I’ll see things different some day, but as of this moment, I have yet to see the error with this. As a young man trying to grow into someone decent, I believe I have to be alone for as long as it takes to build myself before I get involved with anyone else, because at the end of the day, no matter how much it may seem like I’m cared for, when it all goes south, I’ll have to rely on myself more than anyone else.
This expression is my way of putting this to bed for myself. It’s been a whole year and everything has changed. I’m truly in a better place now mentally and emotionally and that’s all I could hope for aside from her being better off without me. by @tym__myt

@averylittletoe THESE Mozley Markets be HITTIN! Thank you so much for providing the space for artists to convene🙏🏽 It’s been a long minute since I’ve performed, let alone a whole set alone, but it felt GREAT! Gotta shake off the rust at some point. Def learned a lot and I can’t wait to learn more but the biggest lesson after this performance was this:
