T1D can make you and make life better IF YOU LET IT!

Type 1 diabetes can turn your life into the best life ever, if you choose to believe that, and if you take actions and think thoughts that align with that.

It was on my heart to say something about this today, and I’m so glad I had the privilege to do so while at Diabetes Camp in Hawaii 🤍

If we aren’t already friends, I would love to be a supporter of your journey <3 by @type.one.type.fun

😱IOB serves you, but if it’s a fear that’s valid…

I took insulin for about 70 carbs and then went on a walk with over 10 units of Insulin on board.

Some of you may see this and not feel anything. Some of you may see this in panic.

I got to have this conversation with 3 different individuals over the past week, and everyone feels a little different.

❌I work with one gentleman, who is fine with this much Insulin, but knows he will drop with a walk, no matter the Insulin

❌ I have one gal who’s comfortable with a max of 30 carbs, regardless of her Insulin to carb ratio

❌And I work with one other gal whose blood sugar drops no matter what kind of physical activity it is

But all of these individuals have taken one step forward, literally and metaphorically.

✅my gentleman who fears physical activity after eating has been able to do 5 to 10 minutes.

✅ my girly pop who was maxed out at 30 is now maxing at 40 carbs

✅ we’ve reworked my other girly’s Insulin strategy so she can do a workout after her breakfast

Are any of these the craziest transformation? Maybe not, but it’s real realistic and sustainable.

That’s exactly the goal.

So if you don’t already have a system that works for you, just know it’s possible to take one step at a time, increase one car at a time, change one unit of insulin at a time, or get active for one minute at a time.

It all counts, and it will all contribute in the long run! by @type.one.type.fun

Hot T1Ds hydrate 💦💗 But... I get SO bored of plain water 😴

So I love @sipcrystallight bc hydration with t1d doesn’t have to be boring, bestie. Add a splash of flavor and suddenly hydration is actually a fun part of my day! & You have permission to make your goals fun 💗

Hanging out with the Crystal Light team at FNCE 2026 was SUCH a vibe - shoutout to Nate and Erica!

Between us... my fav way to enjoy it isn’t even in a glass 👀🥄 If you’ve been around the last few years, you already know. I’ll post an update on my fav way to use crystal light that isn’t even related to hydration 🤞

(Not a paid collab I seriously just love @sipcrystallight ) 🩷

Here’s how I did it ⬇️ proof of life at the end lol

1️⃣ I took a random prebolus while walking to breakfast at 7:07am of 35 carbs because I knew carbs would be available, and ya girl likes to EAT

2️⃣ once I got in line, I realized I’d probably have more carbs than anticipated so I estimated an additional 28 at 7:20am, it’s my lucky number 🤷‍♀️ but it happened to be what I estimated for the rest of the carbs

3️⃣ I sat down and ate 3-5 minutes later and started with the lower carb option, which was the baby quiche (yum!)

4️⃣ once I finished that, I started eating the croissant egg sandwich which was my primary carb source

5️⃣ I’ve just been sitting around ever since! I checked that I didn’t have a large spike happening at 7:50am, and was happily surprised with just how well it went

I didn’t KNOW this is exactly how it would go, to be clear.

💙I DID know nutrition info / carb estimation + insulin strategy

And that’s the key 🔑 it’s not magic, it’s not luck, it’s strategy 🧠
