Third trimester: where everything hurts, not sleeping, peeing all the time, swollen everywhere, feels like there’s an earthquake inside my belly. One day closer 🤍

My father-in-law wanted to come see baby on the ultrasound today so we joked with everyone at the clinic that he was actually the father 😂💙

In all seriousness, I’m so grateful for him. He’s been such an incredible father-in-law throughout this pregnancy, always checking in on me, making sure I’m doing okay, and showing how much he already loves this little boy.

Getting to watch him see his grandson on the screen today was so special. Baby boy is already so loved, and I know he’s going to be the most amazing Gramps. 🥹💙

For my event last week, I decided to change up my placement of my Omnipod to make it go with my outfit. I’ve seen people online wearing their Omnipods on their thighs so I thought I would try it out. My insulin was taking so long to hit me, I guess the absorption is slower when you put it in this spot. I didn’t want it to go to waste so I kept it but my numbers were a rollercoaster 🎢 I do not recommend.

They say spicy food might help kickstart labor, so of course I had to give it a try. The only problem? I can’t handle the heat. 🥵

At this point I’m willing to try all the safe labor myths… but this one might be my biggest challenge yet. 😅

Did spicy food actually help you go into labor, or is it just another pregnancy myth? 👇

At 28 weeks pregnant, I booked a coaching session with Risely Health because my insulin needs were changing so fast, and I wanted guidance before things became even more challenging.

The biggest takeaway? I didn’t need to completely change how I manage my diabetes. I just needed a plan that worked for me.

4 things that made the biggest difference:

✨ Trusting that pregnancy sometimes requires more insulin than my gut initially tells me.

✨ Stopping the “skip lunch or graze all afternoon” habit and creating a consistent lunch routine.

✨ Pre-bolusing for my evening snack instead of chasing highs afterward.

✨ Connecting every decision back to my biggest motivation: For Baby. 💙

One tip I still love: setting alarms labeled “For Baby!” to remind me to pre-bolus. It sounds simple, but when pregnancy brain is real, those little reminders make a huge difference.

If you want some guidance with Type 1 diabetes (or navigating a big change in insulin needs), getting personalized coaching can make such a difference. 💙 @riselyhealth

They say pregnancy is harder than training for a marathon… and after 36+ weeks, I can honestly believe it. 🤰💙

The constant changes, the exhaustion, the emotions, the aches, and growing a whole human, this is a different kind of endurance. 🥹

Mamas, I have so much respect for what our bodies are capable of. ✨

One thing I’m adding to my postpartum essentials is the @4allfamily MilkyWay breast milk cooler. I love that it’s designed to make storing breast milk on the go easier, with a portable design, built-in temperature display, and up to 24 hours of cooling 🥶

As a first-time mom, I’m trying to prepare for the newborn chaos as much as possible… because I already know life with a baby won’t always go according to plan 😂🤍

I don’t even know how to put these emotions into words. I’m so excited, nervous, and already so in love with someone I haven’t even met yet. These last days of pregnancy feel so surreal, and I can’t wait to finally hold you in my arms. 🩵✨

💛 As a Type 1 diabetic mom, I’m doing everything I can to prepare because babies born to moms with diabetes can be at higher risk of low blood sugar after birth. Colostrum is liquid gold and can be given to help support baby’s glucose levels if needed 🤍

I know the evidence is mixed (and some of these might just be old wives’ tales 😅), but at 36.5 weeks I’m willing to give them a try!

Will any of these actually work? Maybe. Maybe not. But they’re all pregnancy-friendly!

Mamas - what’s one thing you swear helped kickstart labor? 👇

Curb walking has officially been added to the list! Between eating dates, drinking raspberry leaf tea, collecting colostrum, staying active, and now this… I’m doing all the things that may help prepare my body for labor. 💙

Will it work? Maybe. Maybe not. But it definitely makes me feel like I’m doing something while I wait to meet our little guy. 🥹

Any other moms have labor prep tips that helped you? 👇

I want to hear everything! 👇

What worked?

What do you wish you knew beforehand?

Did you stay on your pump and CGM?

How did you handle highs, lows, adrenaline, and all the unexpected moments?

I’m getting closer to meeting my little boy, and hearing real experiences from this community means so much. Whether your labor was induced, spontaneous, or a C-section, I’d love all the tips and advice you have.

Let’s help all the future T1D moms too! 💙
