READSEARCH knalt op ‘Art for the Eye’ READSEARCH is trots te mogen aankondigen dat een sterke delegatie is geselecteerd voor deelname aan het Art for the Eye-symposium aan de Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van België voor Wetenschappen en Kunsten (KVAB) aanstaande woensdag 4 juni.Binnen de Poster & Art Presentations zullen de volgende READSEARCH-leden hun werk presenteren: MA-student en stagiaire Monica Hutama , PhD student Niaz Mirmobini & PhD student Marta Guidotti , onderzoekers Kevin Bormans en Ann Bessemans. In de poster sessions (gericht op studenten) met focus op wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar oog, brein, menselijke perceptie en machine vision in relatie tot kunst en esthetiek, nemen PhD-studenten Marta Guidotti en Niaz Mirmobini deel. Ook Monica Hutama is geselecteerd met haar veelbelovend afstudeerproject. De studenten maken daarbij kans op een award. De selectiecriteria waren heldere wetenschappelijke kwaliteit en relevantie voor visuele kunstenaars en iedereen met interesse in visuele perceptie.In de categorie Art for the Eye, waarin beeldend werk met een duidelijke link naar visuele waarneming wordt gepresenteerd, zijn Marta Guidotti, Kevin Bormans en Ann Bessemans geselecteerd. De jury beoordeelde op artistieke kwaliteit en inhoudelijke relevantie voor vision scientists en visueel geïnteresseerden.Deze selecties zijn een bewijs van de interdisciplinaire aanpak en het harde werk binnen het typografisch interdisciplinaire onderzoek dat ze verrichten.—READSEARCH is proud to announce that a strong delegation has been selected to participate in the upcoming ‘Art for the Eye’ symposium at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts (KVAB) on Wednesday, June 4.As part of the Poster & Art Presentations, the following READSEARCH members will be presenting their work: MA student and intern Monica Hutama, PhD students Niaz Mirmobini and Marta Guidotti, as well as researchers Kevin Bormans and Ann Bessemans. Marcus Aurelius' Meditations is truly one of the best philosophy books out there. So I thought, imagine if there's an exhibition through which we explore the life, lessons, and thoughts of Marcus Aurelius? Surely, some individuals would even experience a mindset shift as they go through it.
