Soon to be 💍 #happyresurrectionday✝️ by @tyreeiman
Many people ask me what made me get into the funeral industry. Simply put, at a young age, my grandmother passed away when I was in the fifth grade. I was so fascinated, I still remember what she looked like. From there, my interest in death began to grow. Fun fact: Toward my senior year of high school, I had no clue what I wanted to do. Then boom, mortuary science popped up! I began to read about it and instantly loved it. When I graduated from high school, I went straight to mortuary school. Soon after, the school I attended no longer offered the program. I was so confused…..like, how could this happen? After praying, the Lord led me to work with children, whom I love so much. During that time, He was truly doing a work in me. At the end of the pandemic, I prayed to the Lord and told Him that I still had the desire to work in the funeral industry. Shortly after, the Lord opened the doors for me to go back to school and work at a funeral home…..Mind you, this was 8–9 years later! I was more than confident that the funeral industry was what I was called to do Baby, school was no joke! The studying, the tears, the failures all of it got me to where I am now. Not only that, but the Lord also graced me to pass my boards on the first try. I’m proud to say I am officially licensed as a MORTICIAN! And now, looking back, I truly understand that what you’re called to do takes time, patience, and preparation. Every detour, every delay, and every season of waiting was part of God’s perfect plan to prepare me for this very moment. “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6 Face: @breakingskincycles Hair: @hairbymoniqua Pics: @rell_ent by @tyreeiman
