Approximately 1 in 5 children and young people aged 8 to 25 have a probable mental health disorder. Tyson Green turned his own mental health journey into a powerful short film, not just to tell his story, but to remind others that they are not alone. Mental health struggles can be isolating. Behind the silence, there can be fear, uncertainty and the feeling that nobody could possibly understand. Tyson’s hope is that his film helps someone recognise themselves in his story, find a little hope, and most importantly, feel encouraged to speak up and seek help. Because struggling doesn’t mean you’re weak. Asking for help doesn’t mean you’ve failed. And your story doesn’t have to end where your struggle began. Sometimes, sharing your story can become someone else’s reason to keep going. This is why real health stories matter. A story about mental health. A story that needed to be told. TRIGGER-ED was more than just a film for me. It was a way of turning some very real experiences into something that might help someone else feel less alone. When I made this my hope was simple, if someone watches it, relates to it, and takes that first step towards getting help, then I’ve done my job. From an idea in my head, to writing, producing and directing the film, to having it screened at multiple festivals, premiering at Mind South Kent, and being recognised with a double win @kentmwawards. This journey has meant more than I can put into words. And now TRIGGER-ED has found a new home on Health Films TV πŸŽ₯❀️ an amazing streaming platform dedicated to bringing important health and wellbeing stories to audiences. @healthfilmstv is currently running a fundraising campaign to help towards the platform's launch, and I'm incredibly proud that TRIGGER-ED will be part of what they're building.
