Monday brought the Green and Gold Fund’s second set of presentations, in the Consumer Discretionary and Industrials sectors, headed by Portfolio Managers Camila Villareal and Sean Brewer respectively. Next week, GGF will present the Fixed Income and Alternatives Sector Recommendations! by @uab_ggf

GGF is kicking off their member spotlights for the Fall ‘26 semester with the Chief Investment Officer, Tyler Cooper! Tyler Cooper is the CIO of the Green and Gold, and is in his senior year studying Accounting and Finance.

During his freshman year, Tyler joined GGF as an Industry Analyst in the Industrials sector. In his sophomore year, he moved up the ranks to manage the Industrials sector of the fund, and kept that position until the Fall ‘25 semester. Soon after, Tyler became Portfolio Manager of the Fixed Income sector, within which he changed the entire investment strategy for. Now, as Chief Investment Officer, Tyler Cooper leads decisions on what sectors GGF should buy/sell in, alongside other Chief Officers at the fund! by @uab_ggf

This week’s Member Spotlight post is on the Green and Gold Fund’s Consumer Discretionary and Healthcare Portfolio Managers Kate Flowers and Meso Ogwo!

Kate Flowers is completing her MBA, concentrated in Finance, alongside studying Chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is the Green and Gold Fund’s Spring ‘26 Consumer Discretionary Portfolio Manager. During her time at the fund, Kate started off as a Healthcare Industry Analyst and kept the position for her first two semesters at GGF. She moved up the ranks to work as a Portfolio Manager in the sector in the Fall ‘25 semester, then finally became a PM in the Consumer Discretionary sector. Now, Kate manages the Green and Gold Fund’s assets in companies selling non-essential goods, such as autos, luxury goods, restaurants, and apparel.

Meso Ogwo is a freshman studying Neoroscience at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is the Green and Gold Fund’s Spring ‘26 Healthcare Portfolio Manager. In her first semester at the fund, Meso worked as a Healthcare Industry Analyst, and has moved over into working as the sector’s Portfolio Manager. Now, Meso directs specialized investments focused entirely on healthcare companies such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical services. by @uab_ggf

This week’s Member Spotlight covers two of the Green and Gold Fund’s Portfolio Managers: Addison Jones and Chris Pacheco!

Addison Jones is a freshman studying Accounting and Finance at the Collat School of Business, and is the Spring ‘26 Communication Services at the Green and Gold Fund. Starting off in her freshman year in the fall, Addison began as an Industry Analyst working in Information Technology. Now, she manages the assets held by GGF in the Communication Services Sector, involving oversight of the fund’s holdings in telecom, media, and interactive internet companies.

Chris Pacheco is a junior studying Finance at UAB’s Collat School of Business, and is the Green and Gold Fund’s Spring ‘26 Information Technology Portfolio Manager. His first semester at the fund had him working as an Industry Analyst for the Information Technology sector. Now, Chris manages GGF’s assets held in the Information Technology sector, offering holdings in companies that offer hardware, such as semiconductors and data center infrastructure, and software services, including cybersecurity and AI. by @uab_ggf

This week’s Member Spotlight highlights two of Green and Gold Fund’s Portfolio Managers: Nicole Lober and Tyler Cooper!

Nicole Lober is a senior studying Management Information Systems at the Collat School of Business, and is the Spring ‘26 Utilities Portfolio Manager. Having first joined in her junior year of her undergraduate, Nicole began her journey at the fund as a Communication Services analyst. She served in the position for a year before she began working as a Portfolio Manager in the Utilities sector — a position she maintains to this day! As the Utilities PM in the Green and Gold Fund, Nicole manages the assets dedicated to the Utilities sector, which includes essential facilities such as water, electricity, and natural gas.

Tyler Cooper is the Fixed Income Portfolio Manager of the Spring 2026, in his junior year studying Accouting and Finance. During his freshman year of his undergraduate, Tyler joined the Green and Gold Fund as an Industy Analyst in the Industrials sector. In his sophomore year, he moved up the ranks to become the Portfolio Manager of the Industrials sector at GGF, and kept his position from the Fall ‘24 semester til the Fall ‘25 semester. Now, Tyler manages the Fixed Income sector of GGF, which includes developing new investment strategies for GGF’s investments into fixed-income securities such as treasury, corporate, and municipal bonds. by @uab_ggf
