Are you from the Middle East or North Africa (MENA) region? If so, consider reaching out to Dr. Dylan Baun (dylan.baun@uah.edu) for an opportunity to work with a student virtually this Fall.

The project would consist of speaking to a student in Dr. Baun's "Being Young in the Modern Middle East" course at least three times and will culminate in the student writing a historical biography on the guest and presenting the information to their classmates.

If you have a story to tell, this is a great way to be involved and get it out there. No specifications necessary other than conversational English. by @uah_engineering

🚀 What happens when creativity meets purpose?

You get the Charger Innovation Challenge: Serious Games Edition.

Last night @uahi2c, we witnessed something special.

➡️ 7 teams. 7 bold ideas. 1 mission:
Build games that don’t just entertain—but actually matter.

And they delivered.

🏆 Congratulations to our winners:

🥇 1st Place – The Assessment Trials
Team: Gabriella Black, Michael Edgemon, Deepshikhar KC, Sydney Truesdail
A powerful 3D nursing simulation designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world clinical decision-making.

🥈 2nd Place – Don’t Kill Your Pets
Team: Gabby Caudle, Sophie Eli, El Baker, Ren Rivero
Studying… but with consequences. This creative game transforms flashcards into a high-stakes experience where your virtual pet depends on your performance.

🥉 3rd Place – VR Piano
Team: Hannah Fleming, Grace Bell
A fully immersive VR piano experience making music education accessible to anyone - no instrument required.

💡 But this wasn’t just about the winners.

Every team pushed the boundaries of what a “game” can be:

➡️ Training tools
➡️ Educational platforms
➡️ Behavior-changing experiences
This is exactly what Serious Games are meant to do.
