#tbt circa 2024 we did this cyber security ad with @maxashman

4:3 extract version from 1:1 native aspect ratio. Shooting 17:9 on @reddigitalcinema KomodoX flipped 90 degrees with @atlaslensco Orion 2x results in a native 18:17 aspect ratio

Unfortunately when it comes to post, VFX didn’t catch up with the 1:1 ratio and results in 4:3 to split the diff, otherwise being able to deliver an almost “12k” resolution to crop into 9:16 & 16:9 would be perfect for these straight to social platform ads. Next time ….

Sharing some tech scout/frame grabs/BTS/lighting plan while on bullet train in 🇯🇵during CNY eve, this is a short I shot with the help from a lot of amazing people, story sets in the CNY eve around the dinner table (coincident eh?) just a simple post that reminding myself how important pre production is.

Had my producer @hollyhi_ll and more crew standing in for the tech scout photos, and drawing out the lighting diagram to reinsure myself and talk to my gaffer @finnzaire, in the side by side comparison you can see how important the production design is to a film special s/o to @adelaidelapere who did an amazing job. Glad it all worked out and finished the day, I will do a proper post some days, but if you really a fan there’s full res stills up on my website!
