Meet your 2026-27 UBC Giddha Rec team coaches💙

We’re so excited to have Taman and Jannat leading our Rec team!

They’ll be bringing lots of energy, encouragement, and fun to practices while helping the team grow in confidence, learn new choreos and make plenty of memories along the way.

Can’t wait to see everything they bring to the team this year🫶✨

Meet your 2026-27 UBC Giddha Comp team coaches🤍

Avneet is back for another year of coaching, and we’re so excited to have Jaanveer joining her as a coach this season!

After dancing together and being part of this team, they’re so excited to take on this season side by side, building sets, pushing the team, making memories, and of course having lots of fun along the way💃😋

So excited for another year of Giddha with these two🫶🏽✨

There is so much that happens before a team ever steps onto a stage.

For us, it meant 3-hour practices, sometimes adding up to 6-10 hours a week, 6 a.m. weekend practices throughout the summer, constant cleaning, running sections again and again, making changes, and continuing to show up even when everyone already had so much else going on.

The time, discipline, patience, and energy that went into preparing for this weekend cannot be summed up in one performance. We watched this team keep pushing, keep improving, and keep giving more of themselves every week. For some of our girls, this was also their very first time competing, which made watching them step onto the floor and give it everything they had even more special!

And despite all the hours, the exhaustion, and the chaos that naturally comes, the memories made will be forever cherished. Some of our favourite memories came from the moments between the actual dancing, the laughs, the car rides, the chaos, the encouragement, and simply getting to experience it all as a team.

A heartfelt thank you to our coaches, @_avneetaulakh and @jaanveerlalli_ , for the countless hours, care, and dedication poured into this team. And to our dancers, thank you for trusting your coaches, trusting each other, standing by this team, and continuing to show up with so much heart🫶

We are incredibly proud of what this group built together and even more grateful for the people behind it. Thank you to everyone who supported us, cheered for us, and showed UBC Giddha so much love this past weekend🙏🙏🙏

So much work, so many memories, and so much love for this team🥰❤️

The journey from practices to stage is actually insane!! There is a day where u think things are not going to work out but on the same day you can practice the best set you can EVER perform!! the late nights, EARLY MORNINGS, Parking lot laps, laughter, tears and countless memories just bring us closer as a team and makes us stronger!!
I would NEVER trade absolutely anything for GIDDHA!!
