After @laura_loves_kiki induction ceremony we celebrated at @teaandsympathynyc What a treat. We did it up right with bangers & mash, sausage rolls and a pipping pot of the best tea. I called ahead and they had flags waiting for us and treated us to a toffee pudding cupcake 🧁 YUM! Then we went next door and splurged on a new tea pot, and a Christmas Basket full of amazing goodies, we were actually the very first order 🥳. They will be available online & at Bloomingdales this year!! So excited for our T&S friends. Support local tiny businesses. Not everything has to come from Amazon. 😉 If that wasn’t enough we saw Jodi Foster walk by, ON INTERNATIONAL LESBIAN DAY, we are blessed & highly favored y’all! A delightful omen for the future matriarchy to come. We were back in Albany by 5pm. Apparently you CAN have your scones and eat them too. 🤣#jodifoster #nyc #uk #futureexpats #godsavetheking 👑

10yr old Brandy is living her best life. Questing to watch ALL of the Star Wars Universe in chronological order. I started with The Acolyte. Better than I had even hoped, totally bummed they canceled it. I thought what if the first images of Star Wars I ever saw was of two women fighting to the death. One white and older the other a young woman of color. 🤯 How my world and my place in it would have been drastically different. I seriously could write a PhD paper on it, but this is the gram and I’m already babbling. Then I slogged thru Phantom Menace enjoying the nods to the OG moments and trying to figure out which one of Natalie Portman’s handmaidens is Kiera Knightly lol. Up next Attack of the Clones at it’s essence a love story of how an older woman can get that dark side 🍆. *mood from Saturday after a white man of a certain age tried to YELL at me at the top of his lungs about how awful I am to pull over and try to communicate that I live beyond the emergency barricade and need to drive up the hill to my home.

I had seen the crash when I left to pick up Meriweather from his spa day and deliberately drove all the way around to avoid the incident. However, this white man brimming with omniscience didn’t even let me begin to explain the situation before launching into his tirade about safety and how I could have hurt him or his partner who I didn’t even see until after my car had stopped.

I was able to get him to HEAR me, finally and in a more regulated tone he gestured to his partner and said let her through. I said in my best Towandanesse, “You are an animal.” He said, “just drive on,” I said, “YOU DRIVE ON, YOU ARE AN ANIMAL FOR SPEAKING TO PEOPLE THIS WAY!”

I felt the holy spirit of Kathy Bates and inner my bee charmer Idgie Threadgoode whelm up inside me as I scooted home. The matriarchy is coming, gird YOUR loins Mr. White Man because we aren’t taking your patronizing, all-knowing, father knows best shit anymore.
