To be part of something bigger… 🦷🪥

UCA Pre-Dental students had the opportunity to volunteer at the Arkansas Mission of Mercy, providing care for those in need. From assisting providers to connecting with patients, this experience reminds us why we chose this path. by @ucapredental

✨Guest Speaker Spotlight: Dr. Jeff Powell, DDS 🦷

Dr. Jeff Powell is a Sherwood native who earned his B.S. in Biology from Lyon College and his D.D.S. from Baylor College of Dentistry. He has practiced family and cosmetic dentistry for over 25 years in Central Arkansas.

Beyond private practice, Dr. Powell is deeply committed to service, mentorship, and dental education. He leads Sherwood Rotary’s Healthy Smiles Project, providing dental education to more than 1,000 elementary students each year, and regularly volunteers with Arkansas Mission of Mercy, medical mission trips, and community outreach programs.

He currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at Lyon College School of Dental Medicine, helping train and mentor the inaugural dental class in clinic, making him an invaluable resource for students pursuing dentistry.

Dr. Powell has been recognized as a Top Dentist in Arkansas, Man of the Year by the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, and is a longtime advocate for giving back through organizations like March of Dimes.

He is also known as “The Dancing Dentist,” is a member of the Star Wars 501st Legion, and competed on Wheel of Fortune during Star Wars Week in 2023, where he won big.

This Q&A-style meeting will offer real-world insight into dentistry, mentorship, and the journey to dental school and beyond! taken in University of Central Arkansas by @ucapredental
