Next up in the men’s class is Jacob Kerr.

Jacob is another sport athlete. He will be playing football in the fall and will be a valuable addition to our throws squad in the winter and spring.

Why did Jacob choose Chicago?

“The mixture of athletics, academic rigor, and the rich history of Chicago were the most influential in my decision. UChicago gives me the opportunity to play the two sports I love while fostering my premed ambitions.” by @uchicago_throws

Next up on the men’s side is Brian Chin from Rye, New York!

Brian will be one of two male throwers in the class. He is a rare one for us as he will make a tremendous impact right away in his specialties the hammer and weight throw. Events not commonly done at the high school level.

Why did Brian choose UChicago?

“I chose UChicago because I wanted an environment that would not only benefit me as a track & field athlete but one that would also challenge me academically. Additionally, with its beautiful campus, expansive core curriculum and its variety of traditions, UChicago seemed like a perfect fit for me.” by @uchicago_throws

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊

UChicago T&F competed well the past two weeks at Gately Park and both weeks saw big performances from Molly Laumakis and Brooke Caldwell. Molly broke the 14 year-old indoor shot put school record by an inch, then came back and smashed it by a foot! She now holds the second best mark in the nation this season.

Brooke Caldwell continues to climb in the weight throw, PRing by over a meter and a half in the last two weeks. She is currently #2 on our freshman all-time honor roll and 4th in the conference.

Check out the full highlights below.

UChicago Throws will be competing at home the next two weeks before heading off to NYC for the conference championship.
