Dreams begin in childhood.

What an unforgettable trip to the International Association of Canine Professionals @canineprofessionals conference!

As dog professionals, being there as vendors was an absolute highlight especially because we strongly believe financial literacy is a human right, and there’s no better feeling than sharing that knowledge directly with our own community.

Meeting forward thinking trainers from across the globe, learning from incredible speakers, and soaking in fresh perspectives reminded us why we love what we do.
Between professional growth, we made memories for a lifetime:

I am writing this through a blur of tears, still unable to believe that the world has gone on without you. Losing you so suddenly has been a trauma I can’t quite put into words. You were only five years older than me, but you were my very first role model.

One of my earliest memories is being three years old, watching you with wide eyes as you taught me cheer routines with pom poms. You loved dressing me up and doing my hair; you treated me like your own little living doll, and I loved every second of it.

I find myself going back to the home movies and photos my dad, your grandpa, took of us. He adored you more than words could say. You were his first granddaughter, his everything, his Angelita. I used to count down the days until summer because it meant I got to spend every moment with you.

Even though you were the older one, I took such fierce pride in being your auntie. You had a heart that was simply too big for this world. Your generosity was unique, and your love was a rare, special thing. When you walked into a room, people couldn’t help but stare, not just because you were stunning, but because your beauty radiated from the inside out.

Right now, my heart is broken. It is a physical pain I haven’t felt since we lost my dad. The only thing helping me through these waves of grief is the image of the two of you reunited. I find peace thinking of you back in your grandpa’s arms.

We will take care of Kovey, Mikah, and Mysen. They will always know how much you loved them and how incredible their mother was.

I will love you forever and always. I am eternally grateful to be your auntie,NOT your cousin (inside joke) and I will carry your light with me until we meet again. 💜 by @uckucky

13 years of marriage, and I still can’t imagine this life without you. You are brilliant, kind, and so deeply loving. My partner, my love, my rock.

Quick question while we’re all rushing to wrap up the year... have you looked at your 2026 benefits yet?

A lot of things are shifting right now, and I don’t want you to get caught off guard. Here are a few things on my mind this morning:

1. The 401k Situation - Check if your company is still matching your contributions. Seriously, check. If they aren’t matching anymore... you might want to rethink where you’re putting that money. There are other strategies out there that offer growth without the market risk. If you’re curious about what those look like, shoot me a DM.

2. The “Rental” Problem - Relying 100% on your job’s life insurance is risky. Why? Because you don’t own it. If you leave that job (or if they let you go), you can’t take it with you. It’s like renting a home vs. owning one.

The Reality Check: You are the youngest and healthiest you will ever be today. That means today is the best time to lock in a rate for a policy you actually own. Don’t wait until you’re older or a health issue pops up.

Let’s set you up so you’re protected no matter who signs your paycheck.

What I Would Give for More Time…

As we get ready for Thanksgiving, I’m looking at the empty chair at my table. My dad passed away in 2020. He was my everything.

For the last 5 years of his life, I was his caregiver. But I was also working full-time as an Early Interventionist, and my husband and I were in the middle of opening the brick-and-mortar location for our dog training business.

I was pulled in a million directions. My dad had care, but it was state-sponsored. That meant a constant rotation of different nurses and aides…strangers in our home. Because we didn’t have Living Benefits attached to a life insurance policy, I didn’t have a choice. I had to keep working. I had to keep grinding to get our facility open.

I was so stressed out trying to survive it all that I missed out on just being with him.

That is my biggest regret. I wish I knew then what I know now. Living Benefits would have replaced my income so I could have stepped back from my job. I could have held his hand instead of worrying about work schedules or the new building.

Here is the truth: We think insurance is just for after we die. But the right protection is for the living. It buys you dignity. It buys you options. It buys you time.

Don’t let the hustle steal your final moments with your parents. Let’s get your family protected so you never have to choose between paying bills and being present.

¿Por qué me apasiona tanto lo que hago?
Porque he visto lo que pasa cuando una familia no está preparada.

La mayoría de las personas con las que hablo no saben qué es la planificación patrimonial (estate planning) o no se imaginan la diferencia que hace empezar a ahorrar aunque sea $10 a la semana.

Si algo te pasara hoy...
¿Tu familia tendría que ir a la corte (probate)?
¿Tendrían que hacer una colecta o un GoFundMe?

No son preguntas fáciles, pero son reales.
Y por eso me importa tanto este trabajo.

Porque cuando sabes más, puedes hacerlo mejor.
Y tener tranquilidad… eso no tiene precio.

Why am I so passionate about what I do?
Because I’ve seen what happens when families aren’t prepared.

Most people I talk to don’t really know what estate planning is, or how much of a difference it makes to start saving something, even just $10 a week.

If something happened today…
Would your family be stuck in probate court?
Would they need to put up a GoFundMe?

These aren’t easy questions, but they’re real.
And that’s why I care so deeply about this work.

Because when you know better, you can do better.

And peace of mind? That’s priceless.

I used to get the Sunday Scaries every week.

Like clockwork, around 7pm that feeling would hit 🫣 the dread of starting another week at a job that didn’t make me happy.

I wanted more. More purpose. More freedom. More control over my time and my life.

It took me a while (and a lot of courage), but I finally decided to stop building someone else’s dream and start building my own.

Was it easy? No.
Was it worth it? Absolutely. 🙌
