We are devastated that our extraordinary dance teacher Peggy Hickey passed away yesterday. Peggy has left a tremendous impact on the UCLA community and in theatre communities around the globe. We are so grateful to have had the chance to work with her, especially as she fearlessly helped us pivot to remote learning and dancing in the early days of the pandemic. Sending all our love to her family and loved ones. 💛💙 by @ucla.mtft.2020

EXCITING NEWS!!!! (link in bio)

In March of 2020, our senior class was preparing to fly to NYC for our in person showcase. Unfortunately, COVID hit, and we were forced to postpone. Two years later, UCLA MT 2020 is back and thrilled to present our virtual showcase! The culmination of years of passion and dedication, we invite you to share in this celebration of music, theater, and dance. The link to our showcase website is in our bio! Thanks to everyone for your unending support! by @ucla.mtft.2020

Hey folks! An update from two of our classmates: Danielle and Haleyann have been working together on some super fun projects in NYC over the past couple months! "Stuck," a 20 min musical that Haleyann choreographed and Danielle wrote the book and lyrics for, won audience choice at the Chain Theatre off off Broadway woot woot! They're currently working on an abridged workshop reading of "Wake," for which Danielle wrote the book and Haleyann is choreographing. If you're in NYC- check out the link in our bio to buy tix for "Wake!" Of course, their collab began as book writer and choreographer on "Camp Song." Ah the memories. Speaking of which, paws up for some wholesome Haleyann and Dani undergrad moments to commemorate the occasion. by @ucla.mtft.2020

Hello family and friends of UCLA MT 2020! 💙🐻💛

Thank you all SO much for your generous support of our senior showcase when we were fundraising back in 2019 and early 2020! We are thrilled to let you know that after two years apart, the 2020 musical theater class reunited in NYC last week to film materials for our belated showcase!

We had the best time doing what we love and are feeling very inspired and excited for what’s to come.

We’re looking forward to sharing our work with all of you when our showcase website officially launches this May! In the meantime, please enjoy some photos from our week. :)

Thanks again for your support throughout these challenging times- we are so grateful!

Warmest,
Danielle, Haleyann, Michael F., Michael W., Naama, Sam, Scott, Toni (and Fernando, who couldn’t join us because of some exciting projects, but was there in spirit!)

*special thanks to @justin_daniel_music for beautifully accompanying us, @nataliemalotke for the amazing dance class, @sarahgetsreel for the fantastic dance videography, and @nikkireneesings for meeting us after your stellar performance in @companybway! taken in New York, New York by @ucla.mtft.2020

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our very own Fernando Carsa has been cast in an Apple TV show!!!! Fernando will be portraying Memo in "Acapulco," a bilingual comedy. We are SO PROUD of him. He's a hard worker and huge talent, but mainly he's a kind and humble friend. We love you Fernando! 💙💛

Wondering what super talented Scott has been up to lately? Well... he's composing music for a MOVIE!!!!! “Lemon Cream” is a horror fantasy musical centered around a love triangle, exploring the unconscious and subconscious realms of its protagonist. From writer Cameron Flagel @cameronflagel and composer Scott Senior @scott_andrew_senior. In this song, a man with two hearts in a plague infested world lullabies the ghost of his daughter, instilling wisdom onto the future generation. How amazing is Scott? He can literally do everything?!?!? 💙 by @ucla.mtft.2020

Hey everyone! We are sooo excited to share this video of our very own Danielle singing a song for which she ALSO wrote the lyrics! Impressive? Yes. Surprising? No. Danielle is currently an MFA candidate at NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. As a book writer, her first full length musical was our class' "Camp Song," and now she's working on another! In January of 2020, she was hired at Saturday Night Live as a Writer’s intern. So safe to say, she rocks and we're so proud of her accomplishments at UCLA and beyond. For more information check out daniellekoenig.com @danielle_koenig by @ucla.mtft.2020

We had a little virtual Camp Song Reunion! 💙 TFT asked us to present something for orientation and we thought this song was appropriate for the start of the school year. It is a strange and difficult time but we have each other even from afar. We are wishing all you Bruins a healthy, happy, and safe school year! We are here for you... but this time as alumni! 💛💙💛
