President: Vahag Matevosian

Բարև, բարև բոլորին!!
My name is Vahag Matevosian, and it’s with great honor that I will be serving as the 2026–2027 UCLA ASA President! I'm a third-year Psychobiology major, a big-time foodie, GeoGuessr enthusiast, and above all, someone who takes great pride in being Armenian.

Of all the experiences I've had throughout my three years at UCLA, ASA has by far been my greatest highlight. It has become like a second home to me, filled with lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and people who share the same love for our culture. ASA has given me so much more than I could have ever imagined & I couldn't be more grateful to now have the opportunity to give back to the community that has made my time at UCLA so meaningful.

Whether it's from celebrating our culture through our events & traditions, to expanding our philanthropic efforts & giving back to our homeland, to strengthening ties with Armenian students across the diaspora, I want to see every single facet of ASA grow. Beyond all our events & initiatives, what matters to me the most is ensuring that every Armenian student at UCLA feels that they have a place here and a community that welcomes them. I promise to pour my heart into accomplishing just that.

Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me!! Whether you have an idea for ASA or need a friend on campus, my door is always open. This is your ASA just as much as it is mine – ASA is what it is today because of generations of Armenian students who have poured their love into keeping our community at UCLA alive, and I feel incredibly fortunate to carry that legacy forward.

Meet the 2026-2027 UCLA ASA Board 🇦🇲

Internal Vice-President: Isabella Chilian

Hi everyone! My name is Isabella Chilian, and it is with immense pride and gratitude that I serve as your Internal Vice President for the 2026-2027 academic year! I am a third-year Psychobiology major on the pre-med track, with a minor in Armenian Studies.

I came to UCLA with big hopes and even bigger dreams. Reflecting on my journey thus far, I owe so much of my growth, sense of belonging, and most cherished memories to the community I’ve found within ASA. ASA has given me my place on campus; more importantly, it has instilled in me a purpose beyond myself. Serving as Cultural Chair last year was an especially meaningful chapter, one that strengthened my pride in our Armenian identity and my admiration for all that ASA continues to accomplish in service of our people.

As I step into this new role, I hope to carry forward the vision that first drew me to ASA, ensuring that others find the same sense of opportunity and purpose that I have been so fortunate to experience. External Vice-President: Kristine Aleksanyan

Hi ASA
My name is Kristine Aleksanyan, and l am honored to serve as your External Vice President this year! I’m a graduating third-year pre-law student this year at UCLA, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Accounting.

Raising over $18,000 last year as Philanthropy Chair was one of the most meaningful and rewarding accomplishments of my life to date, and I am committed to carrying that same dedication to philanthropy, as well as other avenues, into my new role as External Vice President. The countless hours, hard work, and unwavering commitment I devoted to ASA were never simply about fulfilling the responsibilities of a position, but about serving a purpose far greater than myself. To me, giving back to my nation and strengthening our community is not merely a responsibility that comes with leadership, but a lifelong privilege and one of the greatest honors I have been blessed with. As we begin this new chapter, I am incredibly excited for all that we will accomplish together, the lasting impact we will continue to make, and the opportunity to meet and work alongside the passionate members who make this organization so special. Secretary: Daron Kasparian

What’s up everyone! My name is Daron Kasparian, and I’m a second year Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology major, and I’m excited to serve as your ASA Secretary this year!

I’m looking forward to getting to know you all, celebrating our Armenian culture, and helping put together a year we’ll have plenty of stories from. I want everyone to feel welcome in ASA, whether you already know half the room or you’re coming to your first event. Being Armenian is a big part of who I am, and I’m grateful for the chance to give back to our community. I’m excited to help support events that celebrate our traditions, keep us connected to our roots, and share our culture with the rest of UCLA.

Meet the 2026-2027 UCLA ASA Board 🇦🇲

Treasurer: Tigran Sargsyan

Hi everyone! My name is Tigran Sargsyan, and I’ll be serving as your treasurer this year. I’m a third-year political science major on the pre-law track and soon to be your go-to lawyer 😉.

After a year of being social chair and creating many unforgettable memories, I hope to now establish and maintain transparency of ASA’s finances and to ensure everyone’s contributions are adequately spent. Whether it be through building educational institutions in Armenia or by donating to those families in need, I promise to do my best and to execute all my responsibilities accordingly. My favourite ASA memory so far has been going to Big Bear, and I hope to experience it one more time this year.

I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to serve on board one last time, and I look forward to seeing the further expansion of ASA and its bank account 💰💰. by @ucla_asa

All-ASA Representative: Narek Karayan

Hey guys, I’m Narek Karayan and I will be your All-ASA Representative this year. I’m a second year Electrical Engineering major and I’m honored to be able to devote my time to UCLA ASA. About me: I do a little bit of everything. I’m an academic, athlete, artist, and musician. In my free time I read, play guitar (both electric and acoustic), play soccer with friends, and listen to music. I’m big into metal but I also listen to almost every genre you can think of (try me 👀).

I chose and continue to choose to put my efforts into ASA because it’s easy to feel disconnected from our motherland out here in the diaspora, and ASA is one of the best ways to stay connected with other Armenians in the area. I’m committed to making ASA as good as it can be, for us and for Armenians everywhere. If you ever want to say hi, I’m almost always at Kerckhoff between classes so feel free to drop by! by @ucla_asa

Public Relations Chair: Paulina Yaghobi

Hi everyone! My name is Paulina Yaghobi, and I’m so excited and honored to serve as ASA’s Public Relations Chair this year! I’m a fourth-year Psychobiology major on the pre-med track at UCLA.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, cooking and baking for the people I love!

Giving back to the Armenian community has always been close to my heart. I’m especially passionate about supporting underserved communities, increasing access to healthcare resources and finding meaningful ways to help others while celebrating our Armenian heritage.

Hey everyone! I’m Vahan, a fourth-year Physiological Science major and one of your Social Chairs for this school year. When I’m not in class, you can usually find me lifting at Wooden or grabbing food with friends. Philanthropy Chair: Nicolas Momjian

Hey everyone, I’m a Psychobiology senior, and my veterinary school applications are in, so hopefully I’ll be your pets’ future doctor.

I love good food with good people, working hard, reading, writing, and watching movies in any genre as long as they aren’t garbage.

Favourite ASA memory: bringing my grandma to cook for LSA and ASA. Behind that was last year’s Halloween party, for obvious reasons.
