It’s been a busy week for earthquake preparedness at UCLA! 🐻

Yesterday, we welcomed Cal OES to campus for an earthquake simulator event, giving Bruins a firsthand experience of earthquake shaking and an opportunity to learn how to stay safe.

Today, we kept the momentum going by participating in the Great California ShakeOut, practicing Drop, Cover, and Hold On.

Thank you to @cal_oes , our campus safety partners and everyone who joined us for two days of earthquake preparedness! by @uclapd

A special day celebrating some of UCLA’s smallest Bruins! 💙💛

Our UCPD officers, Public Safety Aides and K9 Josie had a great time connecting with families at the 2026 UCLA Health NICU Reunion!

Held every two years, this special event brings families together to celebrate milestones, reconnect and create new memories. We were grateful to be part of the celebration and share a few smiles along the way.

Thank you to @uclahealth for having us! by @uclapd

This past summer, UCPD officers continued their training through realistic, scenario-based exercises focused on emergency response, teamwork and lifesaving skills.

From responding to critical incidents to providing medical assistance, these exercises help officers strengthen their skills, make decisions under pressure and remain prepared to serve the UCLA community. by @uclapd

Following a week of educational outreach, UCPD conducted a three-day e-scooter enforcement operation from September 29 through October 1.

During the operation, officers made more than 100 enforcement stops and issued 54 citations for e-scooter violations.

UCPD will continue working with campus partners to promote awareness, encourage responsible riding and enforce regulations that help keep our campus community safe.

A few important reminders:
• All personal mobility devices must be walked on campus.
• Tandem riding on e-scooters is prohibited.
• Violations may result in traffic citations.
Whether you’re walking or riding, safety is a shared responsibility.

Project Pink Patch brings law enforcement agencies together to raise awareness and show support for survivors, families and communities affected by the disease.

UCPD was proud to join our law enforcement partners Saturday at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Pink Patch 5K Run/Walk in support of breast cancer awareness.

The event brought agencies and community members together in support of the Pink Patch Project and those impacted by breast cancer.

UCPD’s 2026 Pink Patch Project is also underway, with patches, challenge coins and lapel pins available through October 31. All proceeds benefit the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation. 🎀

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the lives lost and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.

We were honored to join our partners at the Los Angeles Fire Department for today’s 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

We remain grateful to the first responders who served that day, those who continued serving in the days and months that followed, and all who carry forward their legacy of service.

We will never forget. by @uclapd

A message from Steve Lurie, Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus & Community Safety.

The UC Board of Regents will be on campus Sept. 14–16 for meetings at the Luskin Conference Center. You may notice:

➡️ An increased police and security presence in and around key campus areas
➡️ Designated areas for public expression and other temporary measures intended to support campus safety and minimize disruptions

Please plan ahead, allow extra time when moving through the area and follow posted guidance.

Thanks for your cooperation, Bruins. 🐻 by @uclapd
