Huge shoutout to Brother Martinez (Fa ‘19) and Brother Pickens (Fa ‘21) for returning back to the yard to serve as panelists for the W.R. Crigler Program for Student Success.

Brother Martinez and Pickens had a chance to share some tips and tricks to ensure success with incoming freshman in the BIPOC Community. Brother Martinez was able to share his perspective as a first generation college student who is currently seeking his Doctorate of Podiatric medicine at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, FL. Brother Pickens was able to share his perspective as a first generation college student as well, who currently works in Education. Continue achieving Nupes and guiding those who follow after you. Achievement Alert: Brother Bowman (Fa ‘21) @jbowmann1__ was awarded the Reclaimed Brother of the Year Award by the Chester Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. @chesternupes . The award is given to the brother with the most willingness to offer assistance when needed as a reclaimed brother of Chester Alumni. This award embodies the hardworking qualities Brother Bowman has shown.

We would like to Congratulate Brother Pickens (Fa ‘21) on his appointment as Vice Chairman of the National Music Committee of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

In this role Brother Pickens will work closely with the committee to enhance the music educational components for newly initiated Brothers. He will also play a part in the planning/execution of songs and events as it relates to the fraternity. Furthermore Brother Pickens will work simultaneously on the Province and Local level to create a space for music education and installation on behalf of the fraternity.

Brother Pickens, with years of experience in music as well as various performances(most notably performing live at Radio City Music Hall) will work closely with Chairman of the Committee, and Professor at the University of Arkansas @jallenmurdock .
