Got an engineering project ready for the tank? 🐻💰

Bear Tank is back! BCOE undergraduate students are invited to pitch their research and projects in a Shark Tank-style competition for the chance to receive up to $1,500 in project funding.

🎤 5-minute pitch + 3-minute Q&A
💰 1st: $1,500 | 2nd: $1,000 | 3rd: $500

The audience helps choose the winners!

Projects must demonstrate tangible progress through a working prototype or initial testing plans. Individuals and teams of up to four presenters may apply.

📅 Proposals due Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m.

Just a perfectly normal day in bioengineering. 🫡

Second-year bioengineering student Aadya Penchala takes us along for a full day at BCOE. 🚀💙

And because apparently that wasn’t enough activity for one day, she ends it at the climbing wall before heading home to do homework.

Photo 1: Second year student Katherine Warner, anthropology major, spent her summer in Ischia, Italy on the Italian Island on a non-credit Faculty-Led Education Abroad Program & took a cooking class. 👩‍🍳🇮🇹

Photo 2: African Student Programs hosted their 4th cohort for their No Boundaries Alternative Break Experience in Oklahoma. They had the opportunity to visit various locations/historical sites throughout the state such as the Chickasaw Cultural Center, Roy LeBlanc Invitational Rodeo, Langston University, and the Greenwood Rising Black Wall St. History Center. 🤠

Photo 3: Second year student Emely Parra Frausto, biology major, coached middle and high school-aged athletes with Redlands Renegade Volleyball Club through beginner, intermediate, and advanced volleyball clinics. 🏐

An 8 a.m. class AND a 5 p.m. class? Zoya was really getting the full college experience. 😛

Before we head into fall quarter, we’re throwing it back to spring with Zoya Firdous, a first-year computer science with business applications student at BCOE.

Her day starts with an 8 a.m. CS lab and Math 90, followed by a very well-earned break to explore the HUB, check out campus activities and secure the Spring Splash wristband. Then it’s back to class before facing the day’s final challenge: remembering where she parked her scooter. 🛴

Spring was a time. Who’s ready to do it all again this fall? 👀
