The Lambda Delta chapter of Pi Kappa Phi has been officially chartered at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This achievement reflects the dedication of every brother in our chapter, as well as many hours of hard work. We would like to express our deep gratitude to our national counsel for making the trip down and making this possible. Additionally, we would like to thank everyone who has helped us along the way.

Last month, our President and Warden had the opportunity to represent the Lambda Delta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at the 59th Supreme Chapter in Scottsdale, Arizona. Brothers from across the country came together to discuss supreme laws, connect with alumni, exchange ideas, and strengthen the leadership and brotherhood that define Pi Kappa Phi.

The experience served as a reminder of the traditions and values that connect Pi Kapps nationwide, and we’re excited to bring what we learned back to our chapter at UCSB. taken in Scottsdale, Arizona by @ucsbpikapps

Our June brother of the month goes to none other than Shivam Thaparr!

If you’ve ever tried to win an argument with Shiv, you already know how that ends. As a Philosophy major, he has spent the past three years asking the questions nobody else thought to ask while somehow making you feel like you’re the one who hasn’t thought hard enough. From the Inland Empire to the lecture hall, he has brought a grounded, locked in perspective that always cuts through the noise.

When he’s not dissecting ethical dilemmas, you can find him on the court breaking ankles, testing his luck playing Texas hold ‘em, or at your local music festival at midnight with the kind of energy that makes you wonder if he ever sleeps. Somehow he balances all three without missing a beat which, honestly, tracks for a guy who is graduating a year early.

This month we’re celebrating Shiv as graduation is right around the corner, and let’s say he’s earned every bit of it. But true to form, he’s not slowing down. Come summer, he’ll be deep in LSAT prep, putting those analytical skills to work on his way to be the next Harvey Specter. If his approach to poker and philosophy is any indication, the opposing counsel doesn’t stand a chance.

Congratulations, Shiv! The brothers at Lamba Delta are proud of you! Now go get that law degree and open up that law firm soon. by @ucsbpikapps

Pi Kappa Phi Chapter Member Spotlight-
Emile Ledorze

Emile Ledorze is Seattle-raised and built different. Emile carries that Pacific Northwest energy into everything he touches. Econ major, philosophy minor, he is the type to crush a financial model and then ask whether money even has inherent value.
Off the books, he’s a certified menace on the pickleball court, an absolute threat on the slopes snowboarding, and somehow the guy who still shows up to every IM game and philanthropy event without being asked twice, whether that be ADPI Wiffleball or Pie a PiKapp.
What makes him stand out isn’t just his athleticism or his GPA, but it’s that he does it all without skipping a beat on giving back. This is especially shown in how he is going abroad to Rome, Italy, this summer to volunteer and give back to not only his community, but also to strangers around the globe.
The brothers of Pi Kappa Phi are so grateful to have Emile in our chapter. He exemplifies everything the Lambda Delta chapter stands for. We wish you nothing but the best!

Ethan Kessler is a third year sociology major from Modesto and somehow manages to be the most outdoorsy human alive. Spends his time lifting, hiking, training jiu jitsu, reading, and making his sixteenth Yosemite trip of the year like he’s employed by the park service. Standing about 8 feet tall at all times and permanently wearing rainbow flip flops no matter the function, weather, or occasion.

Big reggae and house guy but then turns around and confidently says his favorite song is Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) by Katy Perry. Runs exclusively on Mexican food, Coors, tequila, and whatever “fitfo” is supposed to mean in the moment.

Always down for anything, always bringing good energy, and somehow turns every random mission into a full adventure. Brother of the Week goes to the Modesto skyscraper himself, Ethan Kessler. by @ucsbpikapps

Getting down and dirty with @santabarbarabucketbrigade

Our brothers went out to Yankee farm this morning and farmed fresh produce that is going right back to the community. Our brothers helped cultivate the land to grow carrots and zucchini, as well as learning several sustainable farming techniques. by @ucsbpikapps
