What can one movement teach another?

Join us for the opening reception of Past Advocacy, Future Change: HIV/AIDS Campaigns Transforming Dementia Narratives, an exhibition by 2025 UCSF Library Artist in Residence Michelle Memran on Wednesday, September 23, 4 - 6 p.m. at the Kalmanovitz Library, main floor.

Drawing on the bold visual language and community-led messaging of early HIV/AIDS activism, the exhibition asks how those lessons might inspire more humanizing, solutions-oriented narratives around Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Opening during World Alzheimer’s Month and Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) Awareness Month, the exhibition brings archival activism into conversation with today’s dementia landscape.

The FREE opening reception will feature an introduction to the exhibition, a conversation with the artist, and special guests. Please RSVP at tiny.ucsf.edu/PAFCEO or go to the link in our bio.
