Where do I start from?

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years without you. You were my rock, my role model, my angel, my everything. Growing up as the first child under your strict yet loving guidance left me no room to go astray. By age 9 or 10, I was cooking, doing market runs, and handling responsibilities most kids my age weren’t doing. In hindsight, it was like you knew you’d leave early and prepared me to be an umbrella for my siblings.

I remember the day you passed like it was yesterday. I was excited to see you at the hospital, but found your lifeless body instead. The memory still haunts me. I couldn’t process my pain, so I put on a strong face for my siblings. In your room, I smelled your clothes, wore your shoes, used your makeup, trying to deceive myself that you weren’t really gone.

Mommy, you did everything for us. In school, they’d say, “Christabel, your mommy’s around,” and I’d know you’d come for me. You showed up even when I was sick , your words then were, “I had a feeling to come check on you”. You made sure we lacked nothing, going out of your way to make us happy. You loved giving love, making everyone feel valued.

I recall the baby shower you planned and executed for Aunty Patie in 2013, at that time, baby showers weren’t common in Nigeria. You saw it on KUWTK and said you’d do it for your sister and you did, because you loved love, and I’m sure that’s one of the things she’d never forget.
If you were to be given a title, it would be “Adanaemelora” “Adaejiemeonu”.

You’d say, “Christy Nwa m, remember the child of who you are. You are the child of a teacher. Always dare to be different.” So, this 10th year, I started my business, House of Flo.Ng (House of Florence Ngozi Udebu), in your honor, with the catch phrase “Dare to be different.”

You brought us to God and made us love Him. Mommy, I miss you wholeheartedly. Tears fill my eyes thinking of you. You loved everyone cousins, uncles, aunties, friends showing up for them, sacrificing your happiness for theirs.
As a young woman, now I understand your pain and struggles more. I honor you, your strength, your fight.
We love you, but God loves you more.

2024, you've been amazing! I'm overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on this incredible day. My academic achievements include:

- Registered Nurse
- Registered Midwife
- Registered Public Health Nurse
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science

...and most importantly, making my loved ones proud. I wouldn't have achieved this without the help of my incredible friends!

I'll be honest, I didn't post earlier because it didn't feel right without one of the most important people in my life being here to celebrate with me. But I've come to realize that she'd want me to be happy, regardless. Wherever she is, I know she's proud of me. Thank you to everyone who's supported me on this journey!
