Last week, we hosted the book launch celebrating Dr. Carlos Casanova’s “Genealogies of Rights: On the Origins of Two Conflicting Versions of Rights.”📖👏

Joined by Hamilton founding director John Stinneford and the University of Burgundy’s Dr. Michel Bastit, Casanova discussed his new work examining two competing understandings of rights and their influence on the political order of the West.

We recently hosted Ezra Jin, founder and pastor of Zion Church in Beijing with a packed house for his first public appearance following his release from detention in China.👏🇨🇳

Jin shared his experiences and explored the complex relationship between religious communities and the state in contemporary China.

Bishop is one of just 15 graduate students selected for the fellowship, which supports promising scholars who intend to pursue careers in teaching.
