HI FRIENDS!! My name is Tiffany Pan and I am so excited to be one of your newest digital dawgs this year!!

A little bit about me: I am from Dacula, GA and is a rising junior majoring in Biomedical Physiology and minoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences! During my time at UGA, I have been involved with @ugamiracle , where I help support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, @phideuga , a medical fraternity learning and connecting with other students who are also passionate about healthcare, @ugamentorprogram , where I was able to connect with different mentors and learning more about the field I want to pursue in the future, and @ugapanhellenic , where I have built wonderful connections and met some of my best friends at @ugadeltagamma !!

Not only am I very passionate about healthcare, but I also love fashion, content creation, and the arts!! I used to dance ballet in high school and I enjoy watching live performances like The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. With that, I know how to play piano, cello, and a little bit of the guitar! One of my favorite things to do is learning songs from different local bands and exploring around Athens with friends!

Some people asked me recently how I balanced a stressful college semester with stem classes, a job, volunteering, and trying to find an internship/shadowing for the summer - while I can say being better at time management helped a lot but also just finding the small joys in life beyond the classroom. So these are some things that made me smile during my sophomore year!

Come with me to go find a medical assistant job in Athens,GA! If you didn’t know Athens is super saturated with students so it’s really difficult finding MA jobs that are hiring part-time (because majority of clinics want full-time employees). But I have seen a few tiktoks of people going in person to different clinics and asking if they are hiring so that’s what I’m doing, because I’ve done a lot of online applications but it hasn’t worked yet so I’m really hoping going in person will help! Anyways, I hope this encourages someone out there to not be afraid of cold calling or going in person to ask for shadowing or jobs, because I literally was terrified of doing this!! 😆😆 by @uga.tiff

What a time it has been. I came in as a doe eyed freshman ready to take on the world. What followed was many years of highs and lows that no one could have prepared me for. Luckily, through every obstacle, I came out stronger. So for that I’m grateful. Grateful for all the opportunities where preparation met favor. Grateful for having systems in place when I needed a bit of extra helpful support (shoutout SCO under @ugastudentaffairs). Grateful for all my friends who supported me at any point of my journey and pushed me into purpose. Most of all, grateful for a God who perfectly orchestrated every detail. Who turned my setbacks into success, my denials into divine redirections, and my trials into testaments of His faithfulness. Thank y’all for following along on this journey and I hope to have touched you in some way :)

Last year, best year! While I posted some of it here, there’s a few things I missed :)

✅ went on a fully funded research trip to Korea
✅ presented at ABRCMS (and 3 other conferences 😅)
✅ Applied to grad school (shoutout to my friends that stayed up with me on December 1st)
✅ Helped raise funds for our chapter’s AIDS gala
✅ planned a toy drive and did lotsss of community service
✅ took little brain breaks brought to me by @ugapharmacy
✅ went to a Circuit riders conference
✅ saw my line sisters do great things (@alexaarenee_ move to work for the New York Times and @drobtheob to start her dream residency)
✅ built a college ministry and started teaching Bible study @bcoconee
✅ coordinated the Miss Black UGA Pageant
✅ gained friends that I hope will last a lifetime by @uga.tiff

Between health scares, organic chemistry, and typical coming of age drama, years 2&3 often felt like one battle after another. However, in these moments, I learned how to lean on others. Regardless of what was going on, my friends and sisters always made it 10x better. With their help, I became an RA, voted for the first time, and pushed myself to perform in a step show (very much a one and done thing iykyk 😂). I also was able to intern at both Pfizer and AstraZeneca during the summers. While far from what I had planned, this season taught me valuable life lessons about always being willing to try again, trusting the Lord’s timing, and falling forward. by @uga.tiff

As my time as a digital dawg comes to a close, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane. First stop, freshman flashback! My first year was a time filled with new friendships, falling in love with Saturdays in Athens, joining @uga.aace, and becoming a member of the Zeta Psi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. That summer, I was able to serve as a camp counselor for Embark UGA and the Georgia Ready Summer Institute as well as travel the country with the National Institute for Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals and solidify my interest in pharmaceuticals. by @uga.tiff

Fourth year feels!
This was my redemption year! Every day, I made a conscious decision to choose joy! Here’s an activity dump 😌
I started a new housing role as a residential belonging assistant

Went to many @ugahomecoming events including the carnival and NPHC step show

Helped plan our chapters 55th charter day celebration

Volunteered at the Pinewoods library and local elementary schools teaching ESOL classes

Took a lot more solo dates to get to know myself again

Fell in love with biochemistry

Made memories in the snow

Finally got back in the lab full time

Celebrated UGA’s birthday

Attended the national McNair scholars conference

Brought more people into the best sorority in the world

Celebrated my first Easter away from my family

Went to the local elementary school to help them fall in love with science

Presented at the Southeastern Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery Symposium (and won best poster 😉)

Caught up with sisters whenever possible
