Our MHA students had the opportunity to learn from two outstanding healthcare professionals this week!

We are grateful to Dr. Michael Serotoff MD MBA FACEP LSSGB and Gina Tipton, RN, BSN, MBA, FACHE for joining our Quality Improvement and Organizational Behavior classes and sharing their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Guest speakers play an important role in connecting classroom learning with the realities of healthcare leadership.

Today, our MHA students had the privilege of learning more about the impactful work of the Gwinnett Clinic from UGA alumnus Dr. Deep Shah and MHA program alumna Andrea De Leon.

Thank you both for taking time out of your busy schedules to meet with our students and share your insights on the Clinic's mission, operations, and the patients and communities it serves. Opportunities like these provide invaluable real-world perspectives and help our students better understand the challenges and rewards of improving access to healthcare.

Our students were fortunate to learn from two exceptional leaders this week!

Nicole Denham, MHA, BSN, RN, FACHE joined our Management class to discuss clinical support teams and effective leadership, while Vicki Abelson, MBA, PCC spoke with our Organizational Behavior students about conflict resolution and negotiation.

These conversations provided valuable real-world perspectives and reinforced many of the concepts our students are exploring in the classroom. More importantly, Nicole and Vicki exemplify the kind of thoughtful, impactful leadership that is so critical in healthcare today.

We are beyond excited to celebrate Ashley Hammond, CAPM® as she takes the next big step in her healthcare leadership journey following graduation! 🎉

Ashley has accepted a position with Ascension Sacred Heart. This full-time program includes structured rotations across departments and customized, project-driven initiatives. She will work directly alongside senior leaders to support enterprise initiatives and gain insight into board governance. Ashley will also receive one-on-one executive coaching and professional development tied to her long-term career goals. She will join a national cohort of Ascension fellows at facilities across the country, learning from how each site approaches its challenges.
