A little behind the scenes of the UGC offers that came through last week 👀 I’ve been working with so many new brands lately, from small businesses to some ICONIC brands 🥹 It’s been such a mix of opportunities, and not every offer is the right fit! I’ve made room to support a couple of small businesses this past week! Something I strongly believe in, is that supporting small businesses doesn’t mean you have to work for free, overwork yourself or sacrifice valuable time that could be spent growing your own business. You can offer more accessible rates while still valuing your time, skills and the work that goes into creating content. Not every partnership needs a huge budget to be worthwhile, as long as the rate, deliverables and expectations align! One thing I’ll always say is never be afraid to negotiate or send through your rates. You genuinely never know what a brand’s budget looks like or whether there’s room to make something work until you ask! You don’t have to accept the first offer you receive, and you certainly don’t have to say yes to everything. You’ll notice I don’t accept gifted collaborations in exchange for content. I’m a full time creator, and content creation is my business, and my source of income, not just a hobby. There’s time spent planning concepts, filming, editing and delivering content that brands can use to market their products. That deserves to be paid! I’m always happy to receive PR with no posting obligations, (I’m always so appreciative to recieve a pure gift that I usually end up posting! 😅) but when a brand wants content, that’s a paid service. ✨ Sharing what I accepted, what I declined and why, because there’s so much more that goes into UGC than just saying yes to every opportunity.
