This red chiffon handkerchief dress is embellished with a gold and blue embroidery. The blue embroidery creates a small flower design and the gold makes a leaf design. There is a low v-neck in the front completed with a bow decoration made of straps of the same material as the dress. There is a second layer inside the dress made of the same material but with a gold strap. There is a red chiffon band around the waist as well as a cinched hip detail with elastic. This 1920’s long sleeve, full length dress features beige lace yoke top sleeves and collar. The bodice of the dress is made with black velvet and has a high-low hem. The dress has a high neck and long sleeves made with a beige lace fabric which has a very delicate floral design. The end of the sleeves have a slight bell silhouette. The left shoulder is decorated with a draped bow made of black velvet. There is also a black velvet flower decoration on the left waistline. The dress has a sheath silhouette, which was extremely popular in the 1920’s. taken in Costume collection at UH by @uhcostumecollection
