Did a makeover cut on the darling @jemmacastiglione yesterday and I thought for once to record it and glad I captured this transformation.

Jemma has never had her hair this short before and I’m really honored she entrusted me with this change. I remember when I first cut my hair this short and what a big deal it was and I wanted to make sure it was a fun experience for her. And I’m so glad I captured it as a moment in her history!

XENO IS 11 TODAY!!!?!

All hail this champion! This warrior! This defeater of broken limbs and acute pancreatitis! The good guy in the phrase “you can’t keep a good guy down!”
He truly went to the brink of death and was like “nahhhh, not yet” and now he’s the healthiest, happiest, grumpy old man around! Way to give death the 🖕m’dude!
But seriously, this dawg has taught me how to be more resilient, more patient, more present. Every day is a goddamn blessing with him around and I love him more than anyone or anything. Thanks for sticking around, Xe. I really really appreciate it/you. 💖🥹😘

Well this is 40. I spent last week celebrating myself with some of my most cherished souls. We got things kicked off @jumbosclownroomofficial, where my friends sponsored a 6-lady lap dance for me on stage. Singularly one of the most euphoric experiences of my life. Then a perfect day time hang with @chinamorbosa, followed by the perfect comedy show with @ivan_bryce_. Then topped off with most magical celebration in the desert filled with gourmet meals, karaoke, a devil (piñata), poolside chats, playing games, a lil drag, and endless laughing with my best friends. My cup over-run’th with gratitude right now.
I have spent a majority of my 40 years feeling like a lone wolf. Starting as an only child with a full-time working single mother, I learned how to be comfortable alone. Then add some childhood complex trauma, being alone became a place of safety. I’ve struggled in romantic relationships to be interdependent, often feeling like “I might be better off on my own”. (Cut to me realizing I’m gay and those relationships were probably failures due to that fact in the end). All of this to say that at 40, I have never felt less alone. I have friends near and far who lift me up, have my back, help me when I’m in need, support me when I’m feeling down, remind me that I am “that bitch” on the regular and remind me that I’m never truly alone. And that feeling, that knowing that I don’t have to walk through this life alone is the greatest gift this life has afforded me thus far.
So if I’ve ever told you “I love you”, I mean it. You all mean so much to me. You’ve saved me in numerous ways and I hope to spend the next 40 years returning the favor(s).
If I am the average of the people I spend my time with, I am clearly doing something right. Thank you for continuing to choose me as I also continue to choose me through my various seasons.
40 is feeling RIGHT.

You dummy. I can’t believe you left us. I am bewildered and sad. I can’t believe we will never dance to YYY’s together again or road trip back to Phoenix together blasting Cocteau Twins. I can’t believe we will never go to Charlie’s on Christmas night together and wade through 6inches of fake snow (Sn’oh my god!). I can’t believe I won’t hear you quote Maria Bamford jokes or get the offhand meme in my DM’s ever again. I can’t believe I’ll never eat your mom’s enchiladas again with you and her on your porch in highland park. I can’t believe you’re not here anymore.
You inspired me to become a hairdresser and 5 years later, we would end up working side by side in a salon. You were my feral brother from the desert. We spoke the same language. Whether that be through music, dance, karaoke, or our complicated relationship with our hometown. We were together when we found out David Bowie died and sang Bowie songs while we drank red wine deep into the night at Ham and Eggs tavern (rip). I tried to give you head during a 4some on NYE and which resulted in us both hysterically laughing. I watched you sing “The Killing Moon” any chance you got when karaoke was on the table. I also watched you struggle to find direction and purpose when you realized doing hair/living in LA wasn’t for you anymore. I hope you know I was one of your biggest cheerleaders. I hope you know I loved you even when we weren’t connected.
I’m so happy I have videos on my phone where I can see you smile and hear your laugh and know that when we hung out we were destined to have a good time. I’ve never met anyone quite like you and I know I never will because you were unique and special and odd and I adored you for it. You loved the people you could trust fiercely and I’m so lucky I was one of those people. I will miss you ♾️ and will think of you every time I hear Elizabeth Fraser’s angelic voice.

2025 seemed to do a number on us all (and if not, congratulations). I’m proud of all of us for merely making it through. 2025 proved to be perhaps one of my most patience-testing, grief-ridden, can-I-catch-a-break? Type of years. I know I’m not alone in this. Between Xeno getting attacked by a dog in March and later coming down with pancreatitis, we’ve been to the vet over thirty times this year. My Uncle suddenly got cancer and passed away over the summer, and after a beautiful but arduous trip to Europe I got mysteriously sick for months only to discover I had mold in my apartment. It’s been a lot to manage especially when these things are overlapping and intertwined and you still have to maintain a job and relationships and a life.
But, ya know what? I fucking survived. And so did Xeno. And I’m living in a new apartment/neighborhood that I’m absolutely in love with and I’ve been crying happy tears lately instead of stress tears and that feels really good. And I have amazing friends and family and therapist who all help me through and I couldn’t be more grateful. So here’s some pics of good times with good people.
I’m trying to be hopeful for a new year. A fire horse year. Bye bye snake year. Let’s gooo.
