Feeling blessed to be given the opportunity to spotlight some of our amazing takata whenua😭❤️

Here is just 1 out of 18 features recently shared to @rollingstoneaus - each promoting Māori artists and the development of te ao Māori in the Aotearoa music scene. Waiho i te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa💫

I especially enjoyed writing this piece. @tamathapaul is someone I have long looked up to. Her strength to speak up for Māori while putting herself in the line of fire inspires me to keep writing🫡 by @uhnie

We unveiled our Māori-language initiative this week, as @rollingstoneaus commits to covering more te reo Māori in this Aotearoa New Zealand election year.

To kick things off, Ōtepoti Dunedin journalist @uhnie and I got to know 10 wonderful Māori artists.

Again, go give her a follow — her mahi led the way.

Each artist told us about their latest music, their journey with te reo, what needs to change in our country’s music industry, and so much more.
