Admitted to hospital. Waking up with a temperature of 39 wasn’t on our card this morning but following surgery for a central line removal with a high temperature, high heart rate, shakes and ALOT of pain its super important to get her checked over at hospital. With the risk of sepsis at the forefront here they have taken blood cultures, blood levels, blood gases and got Poppy on IV antibiotics incase this could be an infection in her blood stream. I’m not entirely surprised of this happening seeing as her port removal yesterday was a tug of war for the surgeon. We are in the right place with our amazing team and I have no doubt in a matter of days she’ll be up on her feet again. Just a hurdle, that’s all it is. Keeping one foot in front of the other and trusting the process. Cmon Miss Poppy 🩷🫶💪🏼 by @jordancatterall1

That’s it. Bye bye port. Our little girl is finally free of a central line. Laying her on the bed today to have the port removed took me back to the day I laid her on the bed to have the port put in age 1. 5.5 years of the same central line is almost unheard of, the trusted port finally decided a month ago it was time to pack in and not work and I’m so glad it did because today the surgeons where faced with a little challenge on their hands. The port didn’t come out as easily as expected. The round chamber came out just fine but the tubing didn’t come following behind so an extra inscision was made on Poppy’s neck and they had to take the catheter tubing out that way. After removing all the port they had noticed the tubing was actually disintegrating. So a report has been made to the manufactures, oral antibiotics started just to “cover” her and now being sent on our way home. She’s very sore and ready to get home to rest. Our little girl, we will forever be inspired by your strength and courage. Poppy The Brave 🩷👊🏽🎗️🫶 - St George’s, thank you for your incredible care today. Grateful for this next chapter. Wow, she’s actually not got a port anymore. by @jordancatterall1

World Blood Cancer Day 2026 🤍Since October 2020, our brave little girl has been fighting leukemia from just 1 year old. Every day she shows more strength, courage, and resilience than we ever thought possible. She is our fighter, our inspiration, and proof that even the smallest warriors can fight the biggest battles.Today we also raise awareness for all children and families affected by blood cancer. Please consider joining the stem cell register and donating blood products — these simple acts can help save lives and give children like our daughter hope for a brighter future.#WorldBloodCancerDay #LeukemiaAwareness #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #StemCellDonation #BloodDonation by @jordancatterall1

We spent many of times in that hospital room only ever hoping we could be in the place we was tonight. Brighter days were so hard to see at one point. Tonight was full of gratitude. A whole 360 moment … ♾️ by @jordancatterall1

Monthly infusions ✅Another month of infusions to boost Poppy’s immune system and to protect/prevent her from certain conditions. Another canula success too! Pops is still getting used to the cannulas still as this is the only way to give her IV’s or take bloods. Was a little difficult to find a vein at first but got it done in one go! YAY! Less trauma for her! One of these infusions is due to stop in the next few months whilst the other one I can be trained to start giving at home subcut (just under the skin on her thigh). We’ve moved to monthly bloods now. Since Pops last admission here for her chest her bloods are within HER normal range. I mean we are still dealing with long term neutropenia and still none the wiser as to why this is or how we can help those numbers but she’s good, so whatever. That’s us done for another month 👌 thank you as always Kings ✌️Last photo - 16 months old at the very beginning of her cancer treatment. 🩷❤️‍🩹 by @jordancatterall1

That’s MY girl!! ✨🪩⭐️I try not to magnify the shit she’s been through and I never want to whack out the violin because that’s not what I share our life for, but this girl, what a fucking girl!! 15 months old diagnosed with blood cancer, MULTIPLE relapses, total body radiotherapy, cranial booster radiotherapy to her head , she’s lost her mobility over and over, her hair over and over, this girl has fought so hard through YEARS of chemotherapy and today again I get to sit there in awe of the confident girl she’s becoming, I am so incredibly proud of my girl on stage, remembering so much, singing at the top of her lungs and just being her, the sassy, independent, fiery girl she is. I’m proud of you my darling girl. What a show 👏All the kids done amazingly. Huge thank you to K2K for being a place where our little girl shines. @k2kstars ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ by @jordancatterall1

Discharged! Get us home! 2 weeks of oral antibiotics to take. Back tomorrow for a lung function test. Surgery for port removal delayed until end of the month until completely safe to put Poppy under sedation. This week has been so hard despite being able to have home leave. Straight to school to meet Jude for a forest school evening as a family of 5!! We also got to visit the helipad today. Let’s just say it’s not for me. I won’t be doing that again in a hurry! 💩 by @jordancatterall1

I’ve seen it more recently and it’s getting under my skin. What’s happened to looking at someone’s care as a whole? This is no way me bashing our team because they have been amazing but I am seeing a few poor decisions being made without thinking about my child as a whole person. I know it’s easy to be autopilot in your work and just getting your work list done but it’s so important to consider the child and the bigger picture. How will they feel? What works best for them? Have they slept well? Is now the right time to carry out a traumatic task?I’d much rather start seeing my child’s needs being met more emotional and mentally as well as the physical needs. The mental and emotional needs are SO important too when working with children. Who knows what trauma they’ve been through and what that could cause them later on down the line. Let’s start looking at the whole person. Let’s start taking our time with our children and let’s stop looking at our children as tick lists to complete. It’s so important we advocate for our children. Don’t feel nervous to challenge things, don’t feel like you can’t speak up, because you can. #holisticapproach #wholepersonapproach #childhealth by @jordancatterall1

Girls sleepover at kings tonight. Lots of chest improvements. Less coughing. Less thick mucus. More sleep for us all. We’ve had such a lovely day. Packing up boxes, enjoying the sun then to the farm with our friends. We are allowed home leave again tomorrow, hopefully we get some plans in place for this coming week. 🩷 by @jordancatterall1
