Review: UK Mums found out about the @ginaford_babycontented book from other fellow new mums and this book is without a doubt extremely helpful 🙌!⁣

Following guidance for on-demand baby feeding can feel chaotic 🤯 as you don’t know how often a baby should be eating and sleeping. While Gina recommends feeding your baby when they’re hungry, her scheduling guidance helps you steer your baby towards a strong daytime ☀️ routine and ultimately better nighttime sleep. In the end, your baby is happier when they know what to expect and so are mum and dad when they can feel confidence in planning their day ⁣⁣

Not every mum prefers a schedule and sometimes we found some of Ginas recommendations, such as to always nap at home, unpractical to follow. One common criticism we’ve heard in our mum group about this book is the day-by-day routine proposed is so specific and rigid that it borders on being a book the military might use 😂. It can be frustrating and feel like you’re not doing as good of a job as you could be doing or as good as other mums out there 😟⁣

Following her suggestions can feel demanding at first but the reward of a well scheduled baby ends up providing mum and dad with a lot more freedom 💃🕺⁣⁣

The book covers preparing to give birth 🤰🏼, why a routine is important, milk feeding 🍼, understanding baby’s sleep 💤 , establishing a routine and then diving into the specific hour-by-hour examples of how to care for your baby 👶 based on their age, from 1 week old up to 12 months old⁣
⁣

Bach to Baby: live classical music for parents and the littles ones 🎻🎼➡️👼 @bachtobaby⁣⁣

😀 excellent atmosphere for kids and babies to engage with live classical music and each other, parents can connect and as a bonus our little one was totally wiped out by the end just in time for his nap⁣⁣
😐 there’s a lot of action / chaos with the little ones but that comes with the territory 😂⁣⁣

- Tickets are £8-15 each⁣ which include one parent and up to 2 kids, can buy packages to get a discount⁣⁣

Review: We attended the ‘Hello Cello!’ 🎹🎻 concert at St. Mark’s Church in @theroyalparks Regents Park and found the @bachtobaby experience to be delightful 🙂 and relaxing 💆‍♀️ Not only was the atmosphere energetic with lots of babies enjoying themselves, we noticed that the little ones 👼 were thoroughly engaged and occasionally dancing with the music⁣⁣

Performers @victoria_simonsen_ 🎻 and @onezhsky 🎹 were superb 👏⁣

The concerts are an hour long, typically take place at a church ⛪️ or other public venue, include 30 minutes of coffee ☕️ time in advance, and are scheduled on both weekdays and weekends ⁣⁣

@bachtobaby was founded by internationally renowned pianist 🎹 Miaomiao Yu which she started so that babies could enjoy live classical music 🎶 alongside parents 🦸‍♀️⁣⁣

Baby delivery 👼 at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, the Kensington Wing @national_health_service @thekensingtonwing ⁣@chelwestft

😀 Excellent care from consultants 👩🏼‍⚕️ and midwives, best in class facilities, true privacy, great bedside manner and genuine care from all for this mum and our little one! 👶💯⁣
😐 High costs 💷💰💳⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
- The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital was opened in 1993⁣
- The Kensington Wing was opened in 2009⁣
- The Kensington Wing has 16 individual units, each with a bathroom 🚿, TV 📺 and refrigerator, and most with a foldaway beds for dads 🤷‍♂️, partners and guests ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Review: This mum’s birthing experience at The Kensington Wing was top notch 👍🏻. The care was comprehensive starting with consultations in the first trimester to delivery of the baby and post-natal care. The privacy you receive in @thekensingtonwing with your own room is excellent especially when challenging circumstances emerge⁣
⁣
Additionally, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital also has an A&E 🚑🚨 which allows for easy access to an operating theatre when risks emerge during the delivery process ⁣
⁣
Our consultant had very clear answers to all of our questions and provided unwavering guidance about the benefits and risks with various approaches to delivery. She was also a rockstar 🦸‍♀️ during delivery ensuring a safe outcome for mum and 👼⁣
⁣
The midwives were great providing care 💊 and monitoring throughout ⁣
⁣
The one significant consideration is the high cost 💷💷 as this is a private maternity service where fees are paid to both the hospital and the consultants for care versus the NHS which is free ⁣
⁣
Overall, @uk_mums 🤱 gives our @thekensingtonwing experience a 💯💥👍🏻👼 by @uk_mums

Shakespeare in the Squares production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream 🎭🎟 @shakespeareinthesquares ⁣

😀 great production, engaging environment, relatively small crowd size, outdoors, drinks served 🍷🥂⁣
😐 can be easy to get distracted given the desire to be social during the play 🤷‍♀️⁣

- Shakespeare in the Squares started in 2016 and has operated in some of the most beautiful London squares and gardens since⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Review: This an out of the ordinary @uk_mums post given this one is strictly focused on mum having fun instead of relating to 👼 but we couldn’t resist. Our good friends @hinjew mentioned the upcoming play in Cornwall Gardens 🌻🌸 and we had a great parents night out on a Tuesday night! The weather was perfect 🌝 and this ended up being a quintessential London event⁣
⁣
@shakespeareinthesquares did an excellent job putting a 1920s 🎩 twist on a classic story of love, drama and comedy. The show is highly engaging with Puck frequently interacting with the crowd, musical instruments involved 🎺🎻🥁, dancing and some very entertaining lovers quarrels. You can tell the company is thoroughly enjoying it which makes the production even that much more special 🙌⁣

Review: UK Mums absolutely LOVED our NCT antenatal / prenatal course experience💥🙌 Our teacher, Karen Miles, was excellent and provided very relevant info for pre and post-birth. The childbirth process is confusing 🤷‍♀️ with so many important considerations: all natural, epidural, elective Caesarian, emergency Caesarian, air and gas / nitrous. Knowing all of the pros and cons with each approach was extremely helpful⁣. They also encourage dads / partners to attend all classes which is a big plus as well
⁣
There were some jokes made in advance that the NCT pushes a hippie agenda with all-natural, at-home, non-medicinal approaches to child birth but we found this to not be the case at all. It was very balanced and informative ⁣
⁣
Lastly, it is a great chance to meet other mums-to-be in your neighborhood who are going through the same experience! We have already had our first social🥂get together with other parents in our class 💃 and have our first play dates lined up for the 👶👶⁣
⁣
@uk_mums gives @nctcharity a 💯👍🏻and came away much more prepared for what’s ahead! 💗🤱⁣

Review: UK Mums found out about this car seat / carry cot at a recent @nctcharity prenatal class 🙌 and we couldn't wait to learn more about the product! The big deal about the @maxicosi_eu Jade is the fact that they've developed a carrycot that is also an R129 compliant car seat, meaning that mums don’t have to stop and give their baby a break from their car seat every 2 hours. This is absolutely huge!! 💯🎈💥👍🏻⁣

Current regulations do not allow our babies to sit in a car seat for more than 2 hours due to potential problems with breathing that can arise if the baby falls asleep 💤 with its head in a respiration-restrictive position. This product is a solution to the 2 hour rule as it allows the baby to lie completely flat while also meeting the regulatory requirements of a car seat. 👶👧⁣
⁣
The installation of the Jade in the backseat is a little different than other car seats because it is inserted sideways instead of facing directly forward or backward. The reason behind this is because of 1) having the baby's head in the middle of the car is the safest in case of side impact and 2) space.⁣
⁣
UK Mums really likes this product and enjoys seeing this type of innovation in car seats for our little ones. 💕 This product also fits seamlessly with the @maxicose_eu prams / pushchairs / strollers.⁣

Review: this pushchair is very high quality and has some features that make it stand out for mums that plan to have more than one baby 👶👧. First, it comes with one carrycot and one chair seat, and both of these units can be used together when you convert the Orange into a double stroller. We found this to be a BIG differentiator compared to several competitors' models as the iCandy Orange does not require you to buy a separate third seat to convert it to a double pushchair, allowing us to save some hard earned mum money ✨💥💯 The carrycot converts into a chair seat allowing two children to sit in the stroller, which eliminates the need to buy an additional seat. We noticed a lot of parents with a second child on the way checking out this model when we looked at this product at @johnlewisandpartners . Other pluses include the fact that the carrycot is suitable for overnight sleeping 💤 and the stroller allows for up to 25kg - again, superior to several competitor models. Overall, even though the price for the iCandy Orange is high, we found the engineering behind this pushchair to be highly practical and the quality to be top notch ✨🙌⁣
